So how many of you are Oghma'ing today?

Post » Sun May 18, 2014 3:21 pm

I'll be using the patch to balance my stat ratio.

I think I'll aim for 450 Magicka and Stamina, and 500 Health. So around 20 more levels for me.

I'll be level 102.

This, but i for one i'm sick & tried of people acting like there better then people lke me who used this glitch. I know how to level up normally, but i don't have time to grind that long. because of alittle something called a life. work, family, school, what have you. & overall its about fun, & i'm still having fun & getting challenging fights. i said it before & i'll say it again Oi wasn't a big deal & it still isn't. glitches get fix, so what it was fun while it lasted & people have already found another way to do the Oi glitch, so it'll never go away. period. opinions are opinions no matter how you look at it. There is NO facts you can state for either side, its just your own personal opinion nothing more. Like i am stating mine now, it doesn't mean i'm wrong & it doesn't mean i'm right. Thats why its an opinion.

Never used it, but one question though: those who say you use it only for alchemy or smithing or enchanting, doesn't the book level ALL skills from the Mage/Warrior/Thief categories? So by "only" levelling smithing you're actually levelling archery, one handed, two handed, block and heavy armor also, no? Unless there's something about the glitch that makes you level only one skill...

Getting alchemy high is EASY. Just pick stuff everywhere you go and make lotsa potions, then sell the ones you don't need. You'll make a ton of money and level alchemy very, very quickly. Piece of cake.

Well, not me. I have a character who did that because I was practically power-hungry with everyting: Power, control, and money but then that turned to waste and whenever i play that echaracter, i feel its life is just... gone... unless you have exciting quests.

/tops.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':tops:' /> I approve.

Another amicable solution would be, since they're adding a Legendary difficulty(taking the challenge up a notch,) perhaps in the next patch they could implement another difficulty setting. Something below easy. Difficulty of enemies still be the same, except that your skills develop a lot faster and is more time friendly.

Cause really, some skills are hellish to develop. Requiring a lot of time, money, and exploration.

I only ever used it to test new builds, so I'm not too upset to see it go. Besides, I've already used this glitch enough, I see no need to waste my time doing it today.

If it were not for the OGHMA, I seriously doubt I'd still be roaming around in ES V. On my PS3 I could not really get beyond a 16mb save file before the old frame lag issue made the game unplayable, which meant a character seldom got beyond level 45, unless he paid a lot of coin for "Training" with various NPCs.

So......I usually finished the Septimus questline by level 15, then boosted everything to level 30. Then I resumed playing normally. I'd still have to bail somewhere around a 16mb save file, but at least I could reach level 60 or so, which was pretty uber-powerful, and feel like I'd still earned my way there.....

With the 1.8 update there does not seem to be a need to do this type of leveling exploit. The PS3 version runs much better, and save files are definitely smaller for a 200 hr playthrough than they were prior to 1.8. I guess I wouldn't mind hanging onto the Oghma work around, "just in case", but at this point I'll just keep that character save, for one more level refresh if needed.

From Oblivion to Skyrim Attributes, classes, mysticism, athletics, acrobatics, spells, spell making and lots of other things were sacrificed in order to cater to the casual COD crowd. In Skyrim you level up way faster than earlier games. Now some of those people make a lot of threads like this complaining about glitches that would bypass the whole leveling thing, taking away 1 of the few things left that makes TES feel like an RPG. Why would a group of developers spend months coming up with the concept of a leveling system and then trying to make it work if the casuals are going to complain about an RPG having too many RPG elements in it and have to cheat. I really hope that if any Devs read these kinds of threads they don't generalize that TES or Fallout fans don't like leveling system in their games, making them dumb future games even more than they have in order to please the increasingly lazy casuals. If that's the case then I would be very sad to expect even less choices I future games.

This is a double edged sword & can't be simply placed in black & white standards. Most casuals playthrough the game once & thats it & move on. & i could go on & on with different play styles here. but thats not the point, cheats & exploits have always & will always be in games. & in a single player Rpg like Skyrim they are used for the players funs if they so choose to. i do think personally the Oi glitch is overhyped on here as either game breaking or harmless fun & thats fine to have either opinion but some go overboard on both sides like everthing in the world. cheats & exploits don't hurt single player games, but they may, if thats your opinion. i could go on but i think i'd start to rambul a bit.

Well said. While I agree with the idea of Skyrim being dumbed down for casual players, I have doubts that casuals even know of the Ohgma Infinium. Most casual friends that I know bought it day one, sold it about a month or two later. The few people that I know who do use the Ohgma Infinium are far from casuals and play for hours a day.

You can still duplicate it many times over and over and use it that way.

How do you duplicate items? /huh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> I have only heard about duplicating armor on mannequins.

Saves a whole hell of a lot of time in making a character that you really like. I'm going to hope that it doesn't actually get fixed. I've dropped enough hours in making awesome characters in the past that I don't want to do it all over again. At this point I'd just rather have an idea for character, and be able to make it happen after like 10 hours of gameplay.

I'm just curious if the PS3 1.9 update also brings some fixes for more of the lag. My file is at 21 meg now and I can't even bother riding a horse on the overworld without it going into 2 frames every 3 seconds. =(

Nevermind all the PC players who can use the console and oh, say, resurrect dead NPCs just for [censored] and giggles. Or adjust the environement or time scale or their character's overall well being, because they either think the current system is broken, or, again, for [censored] and giggles.

Because you know, those aren't exploits at all.
