How Mature is Mature?

So Eso has an M rating, how far do you think they have/will push that rating? What content would you like to see in the game to take advantage of the fact that this isn't the family friendly mmo? Basically I'm wondering if I can be a Skooma addict, perhaps some Skooma smuggling/selling quests. Slavery is alive and well in parts of Tamriel will we see much of that worked into some of the less scrupulous quest lines? Anyway, just wondering if we will get to play in the dark seedy side of the elder scrolls and hoping they push the limit for their rating.

I remember seeing a screenshot of a quest somewhere where you threatened to punch some trader's face in if he didn't give you money owed. A second screenshot with him dead and someone looted him.

Hopefully, Beth/Zen won't pull punches when it comes to the M rating. ;p

I'm not entirely sure here, but I read ZOS was trying to avoid the M rating. So I'm guessing there won't be too drastic things going on, apart from the Daedric Prince of [censored] beeing the antagonist.

But now that this is cleared, there is nothing from preventing ZOS to turn the table and play up the mature card. I'm pretty sure the devs are quite open to certain topics if you want them. Make suggestions after launch for quests and elements you'd like to see and gather support.

Yeah, they wanted that goldilocks zone of a T rating where they can draw in just about everyone but now that they are firmly in M territory and with a dark brotherhood and thieves guild update in the cards I really hope they embrace it.

I encountered a pretty dark quest during this last beta in the Ebonheart Pact area. Pretty much without giving it away, i had to make the choice as to being complicit in a murder or stopping it. And the way it was presented was without holding any punches.

I think ZOS is going to not shy away from the M rating at all.

A M rating is fairly detrimental for a MMO. Indeed, Bethesda does not agree with this rating; it's not their intention that the game is being rated M.

Since when the age rating has mattered anything?

Game will be anyway played by people from 10 to 100 years old.

That's cool to hear. I always loved the twisted quests in the other Elder Scrolls games, the end of the Dark brotherhood quest line in Oblivion was wicked.

It controls what content they put in, I don't care how old the people I'm playing with are I'd just like to know that if they have an M rating are they going to use it. So far it sounds like they are.
