How to modify the fallout.ini file- won't let me save change

Post » Thu Dec 08, 2011 2:32 am

Want to alter the FOV from default of 75 to 90. Changed the fDefaultFOV to 90.0000
When I try to save, I cannot. File is set to read only- try a different name.
Can I save it with a different name, and if so, will the ini still work. Or is there another way?

Thanks.

You have to alter the fallout_default.ini located in the steam\steamapps\common\fallout new vegas folder. Make sure you save an unaltered copy first. When you launch, it'll overwrite the fallout.ini in your my games\falloutNV folder. Also, if you verify your files via steam, it'll overwrite the altered fallout_default.ini file so either don't verify or make an additional copy of the altered fallout_default.ini
