How is morrowind compared to oblivion?

A serious answer would be Morrowind has a better story but Oblivion has better gameplay. In my opinion

Morrowind is superior in atmosphere, depth, graphics, art style, and overall aesthetics.

while Oblivion was better in, AI, graphics, voice acting (though limited it was still more than morrowind), and combat

also dark brotherhood

More things apply to graphics that just technical crap... (aesthetics, art style....)

Aesthetics and such are a major factor in determining good graphics....

From a technical perspective on graphics Oblivion>Morrowind, but that is not what I was talking about.

Oh, and Modded Morrowind>Modded Oblivion in terms of graphis as well.

Gee, I thought you were having a cosmic chuckle

I take it all back. You're a crazy person. Do you even see the same colors as me? :batman: Not very Batman at all...

So aesthetics and ART have no bearing on overall graphics? ART is completely meaningless from a graphical perspective? I guess that the only thing that matters is "oooh polygons" and other technical related stuff..

Voice acting killed Oblivion's depth. You simply couldn't have voice put to all the different lines of dialouge that were read in Morrowind. This limited the amount of factions, quests, choices, etc...Instead of having multiple ways a quest could go, most were linear and boring in Oblivion. I dont expect much to change in Skyrim. The fact theres only 4-5 joinable factions points to this.

Morrowind is boss, oblivion is like a sequel to a really really really good movie, it just never stood a chance of living up to the expectations that were set. but it is a good game in it's own right.

Morrowind is an RPG, oblivion isn't
Morrowing has a great story, oblivion doesn't
Morrowind presents a greater difficulty than kibliviion

well said ... my thoughts exactly

oblivion held your hand .. actually it forced you to be led
i remember afeter every quest oblivion allways TOLD you what you read and what you were suppose to do constantly ... never let you actually make mistakes or stray from FOLLOWING POINT AND LEAD .. morrowind was exact opposite and allowed you complete freedom
i blame todd howard for the fail of oblivion
