How much customization?

Post » Mon Aug 30, 2010 7:47 pm

Yeah Skins on the guns are an option. I doubt there will be writing on them though, it's just how the Resistance works. I also doubt there will be any where it's just like "Oh god that looks horrible, get it off get it off!"

I have some questions:

Can you customize your Head/Face? You know, Expand your Head, Adjust your Ears etc

The same goes with Body Type, Like Weight, Lenght and Muscles.

Let say that i equip some pants, Is it possible to paint them with a certain colour (Like all white) and maybe put a design on them (Like a Dragon or Something) ?

Cheers

You can only choose from pre-made faces, but from what I've seen there are quite a few.
The Body Weights are also pre-done, but they actually effect the gameplay so you can't really mess with them because of that.
As for the pants, you can change their colour, but they're all pre-done again (I think). You can't add anything like that to them either.

LoL that IS NOT a lot of customization at all. If they release with less than 50 outfits I'll be pissed. Saints Row has more customization than that....

I don't think you should compare anything to Saints Row, that game has more customization for cars and characters then any game I know off. And by that I mean it is almost the most customizable game of all time.

There's plenty of stuff you can already see that ain't got any assignment to Archetypes, these being basic Tank-Tops and Head-gear...well some head-gear at least isn't assigned...besides, even if we have seen all of the available stuff, it's still a damn lot...for me at least, but honestly, I still say there's a fair share we've yet to see...and the possibility of future additions through DLC...maybe...

The tank top is a part of "The Sweat" and without naming headgear, i cant really tell you where it comes from, but yea, it seems like everything is part of an ensemble.

Really? Damn...missed that one...I'm sure there was at least one I saw with no assignment for Shirts...damn...but I know Head-gears got a couple, that Gas-Mask with a single breather...I'm damn certain that's non-assigned...

The gas mask is a different texture for "The Dude" if I'm not mistaken.

Ha...I'm sensing a pattern with this...I think I'll stop, because I ain't thinking this through enough...but, I will keep on saying I'm sure there are some that you could unlock that aren't Archetype specific...or at least something we haven't seen...but as of right now, with what we've seen...damn sure it's all assigned...

Each item is actually named by its Archetype, so it makes sense that they all have one. To get the gas mask, you pick "The Dude" as your helmet and cycle through until you have the texture you like.

Yeah, I get that, I just kept seein' stuff from one side being a damn sight different in the other and thinking it isn't assigned to any Archetype, I get the system, I'm just wondering if there will be any Gear that isn't in an Archetype, just a sole piece of equipment with no "Complete Set"...something that'd make no difference but it'd be good...

Well, the pre-order stuff is like that, but even then, the mask is "Spec-Ops" or "The Freak"

I do not think shoes are a separate piece. I think it is simply "lower body" as a whole (pants and shoes)

Yeah, I think you're actually correct.

At least according to this video screenshots: http://img220.imageshack.us/img220/6953/brinkcustomisation1.png, http://img830.imageshack.us/img830/6633/brinkcustomisation2.png

Well, we wont be able to [censored] customization, but we might be able to piss it, and is the texture thing true? (That is changes the whole item, and not just pattern and colour, or just one of those)

They talked about that before. I think the main reason was the Bodytypes, and it would have limited the customization drastically.
Women still exist, they're just not in the fights.

Which, if you think about, makes sense that women are not fighting.

If there was a global catastrophe, that killed and displaced millions of people, and The Ark, which has around 50,000 people on it, has lost all contact with the outside world and could possibly contain all that remains of the human species, do you really think they would even let women fight? No way. Women and children would be like a precious resource - they would be protected and not permitted to fight, since women are what will repopulate the species, and children are our future.

True. 1 men and a whole lot of woman can repopulate the world rather fast. The opposite not really so. I heard a similar quote somewhere before.

An excellent prize. Gunner think of them as spoils of war.
