How much music do you have?

Post » Sat Jun 07, 2014 12:25 pm

I am curious of what other peoples music library size is?

I have 1085 songs at 9.85 GB and it will take 3.2 days to listen to it all.

Its all in mp3 format because I like to have it all on the go and its the only way it will fit on my 16 GB Iphone 3gs.

I like my set up because I never have to skip a songs because I only keep the ones I like.

I have seen people with 500 GB of music I think that is insane and pointless because you couldn't possibly ever listen to it.

Atleast that's what my Subsonic server says. But I listen to Pandora quite a bit as well.

About 300 songs, making up about 10-12 hours. 140 of those songs I never listen to.

None of it was downloaded illicitly. (?° ?? ?°)

About 400 CDs, 250 vinyl.
I used to have more, but I trimmed the collection down a few years ago. (such a hassle to move with collections)

My iTunes is...
172.10 GB

19959 songs, which would take 69 days to listen to.

No music whatsoever. I've never owned music CDs nor have I ever owned an ipod, or any apple product.

I've been downsizing. I used to have 36000 but I'd never even heard some of them.

Props for being seemingly mostly lossless though.

11,481 songs

1,666 albums

1,052 artists

192 genres

42.8 days

103.42 GB

Used to have a collection roughly 3 times the size of that on my old PC before it died. i've never really mustered the willpower to replace it all.

Only my absolute favourite albums get the lossless treatment.

About 430 CD albums. And most of them were bought over a decade ago too, it's not that often I'm getting new music these days as I'm rather content with what I have, although I did import the Piano Opera FINAL FANTASY VII / VIII / IX CD from Japan last month.

I have Pandora. That is it.

I used to have a library of about 10,000 songs nearly 2 years ago. It got wiped somehow and I couldn't recover it. Have not been motivated to rebuild it since. I probably only listened to like...40% of it.

I kind of like and hate the randomness of Pandora though.

How would I know? I don't store a lot of music on my PC. I have over 100GB of sample libraries and virtual instruments, though.

Hmm. According to my iTunes..... 142 albums, ~1440 songs, 7.7 GB. I've got a handful of vinyl I haven't digitized, and a couple dozen tapes from the 80s/90s. Haven't listened to the radio (over the air, or streaming) in over a decade, except when I'm at someone's house and they have it on.
