I would be happy with origin stories like in DA:O that play out a bit of our character's life before ending up in jail as long as they are shorter than DA:O's origin stories and far more varied. If not, clean slate.

I'm just another member of the anonymous masses. Every character I make has a different story and personality, this wouldn't be possible if we were given anything other than a clean slate.
