How much slower does heavy armor make you, and how to deal w

Post » Tue Nov 13, 2012 6:14 am

I want Daedric armor on my Dunmer female Wizard because of the looks. However I dont really need or care about the protection heavy armor offers due to using dual dremora lord tanks and nuking from a distance with bow and spells.

I know the steed stone helps, but does it completely negate the slower movement?
I could invest some perks into heavy armor but Id rather avoid it.

So is my only choices to either spend perks or always having to use steed stone?

You'll get used to the slow walking that's what happened to me, whenever I put on light armor I feel like a speeding car :P you can spend perks on heavy armor to run normally if I am correct

The steed stone negates all weight

"The Steed gives a bonus of 100 extra http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Encumbrance_%28Skyrim%29 and no movement penalty is received by http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Armor_%28Skyrim%29. Armor also has zero weight when equipped."

yes spend perks or always use the stone.

I always thought that armour didn't slow you down? It only weighs a lot (which can be overcome with perks and/or the Steed Stone) and makes your stamina bar drop faster when sprinting?

It does slow you down. Try a heavy armor set and run around for a while, and then get nekkid!!!

Speed difference is minimal i find, biggest difference is the stamina drain when sprinting which you WILL notice.

Though i do end up going for the steed stone eventually on my heavy chars, mainly due to needing more carry space as heavy weighs a lot and i dont like wasting 2 perks to get the heavy perk.

Exactly, the speed difference is pretty minimal, as sheated vs unsheated weapons isn't that much of a difference either

I have tried it (on the game I might add :whistling:) and found there wasn't much of a difference, if any at all.

Wasted perks. That is one thing I dislike about using H.A.

Heavy armour does slow you down,( and it should do )untill you get the stupid perk for it.

There is no way heavy armour should become weightless in my opinion no matter what. Never liked it never will.
Same goes for reaching the armour cap with light armour.

Why call it heavy armour,if in the end it weighs nothing.....stupid idea.

Apart from looks there is no difference in light or heavy in the end. Which defeats the whole purpose.

May as well dumb things down more and just have an "armour" skill.

Taking half damage from falling in heavy armour....... Yeah...pull the other one.
