How much of the "Alpha Build" problems will be fixed

Post » Sun Sep 25, 2011 5:30 am

It seems as if whenever people list off a problem, glitch or issue in the game, other peoples' immediate response is always, "Alpha Build."

Now, I have absolutely no problem with people saying, "Alpha Build." I mean, everyone is created equal and everyone is entitled to their own opinion. So I am by no means complaining about the people who say that (Am I doing it right?)

But I did want to discuss the following:

Which problems in the demos do you think will be fixed in the real game, and which issues/glitches do you think will still be there?

Even if some Bugs and Glitches stay in the final game, they can Patch and correct them after.

(Some Developers even change drastically their games with Patches in the name of Balance/Fun/Etc... Civilization V sometimes have strong changes in its mechanics from Patch to Patch)

What I've heard from people playing the demo is that it has some implemented borders, so it's obviously a build made especially for events like the TGS.
I would assume they made this build after all the major programming was done. (Working quests, terrain, etc.)
And from what I have read, the latest hands-on builds just feature slightly improved versions of the old hands-on build. Which would imply that it's still the June build we've heard about before, but that in those few months, major issues will have been fixed.

For me, personally, it's perfectly reasonable that rain is going through roofs during these playing sesions.

I have full faith in Bethesda about fixing this issue (or already has fixed it), along with stuff like the water breathing scenario.

Minor issues will likely still be there, such as the topic pop-ups in Oblivion that don't actually exist. But these will obviously be patched out later if they are overlooked.
That being said; it's likely that the AI and physics wont be perfect. Personally I'd assume it was among the most final versions of the AI/Physics that we've seen, but I can live with that. It's still a big improvement from Oblivion, and it's a game after all.

But personally the latest game I have played is Oblivion, I have no idea what games can do these days. I'll be impressed even if others are not.

Your last thread on this very same subject was locked. It's an alpha build. Nothing more, nothing less.
