How Much Time Have You Invested In Character Customization?

Post » Tue Mar 29, 2011 11:19 pm

After wrapping up the campaign and challenges (3 star Parkour this!) I decided to spend some time making a ill collection of characters. 3 hours later. . .

Somewhere between 2-5 hours. I am not a freak about customizing.

I voted 20+ hours, but then i realised you were talking about Brink and not APB...

this game isnt even close to what customization is supposed to be like...

but ill probably spend about half an hour "customizing" since the options are so limited.

remember they had some sort of blue card thing that said you can customize your character in like 12 millions ways or something along those lines i probably read it wrong but if that was the case..what a way to majorly false advertise, lol. I thought we could adjust their facial features, change the color of clothing to our liking..but everything is already set and designed for you...so one of the major selling points for me was this feature and it's kind of lack luster..hopefully the DLC resolves this issue and we can get more dynamic like originally intended maybe.

They must have counted each face and voice combo with all the items and body features.

I haven't unlocked everything yet, but I know what I would get in the end since I've seen gameplay videos and the game itself shows me
previews of future clothes and stuff.

I....I haven't really customized my character longer than 10 minutes, really. And I am one of those who spend HOURS and HOURS customizing my characters in RPG's, the Sims games (PC versions), etc.

It's just....not enough(---for me, that is, who've played many games that had customization).

Only one or two faces are good, and I'm not too picky about pants or shirts so I just slap together and match colors. It's....okay. Some pants/vests/shirts I felt were not that different.
I didn't like the pre-set color combos, either. The guns cannot be customized in appearance except for attachments. It's just....meh. It's just there, really.

I think it's because I've been spoiled by http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CU8tIpGGTHc, the console ones don' t have much and are not as good) and several RPG games in which there are face sliders and you can pick several colors from a RGB color-selection thing (plus the mods for the PC versions of those games also add to it).

If Brink had a color wheel to choose colors from instead of a pre-set color combo and if we could select what colors the accent parts could be, then that could make the customization much, much more better.

Compared to other FPS games, Brink does have more (and better) customization and it's good!, but it does not have the enormous amount the devs were bragging about, lol.

Of course, there are always DLC's to give more variety. ;)
