How much time you think it will take you to completely finis

Heresy!

Elder Scrolls games don't get "finished", such talk will condemn you to hell! :flame:

In fact I'm hoping you can't "complete" the game with one single character, some paths should be closed or opened depending on your race, skill, decisions or allegiances. An Inquisitor can dream, can't he?

Forever. I still haven't finished every quest in Morrowind. Or Oblivion. Mods help.

Skyrim seems to have a much greater replay value than Oblivion and Morrowind considering the following:

  • *280 perks to choose from, making the second, third, fourth playthroughs more fun
  • *20+ dragon shouts with 3 different levels for 60+ shout effects, making it more fun to play pure warrior or pure stealth characters who don't use magic
  • *10 races with revamped character designs, making it a bit more fun to play new races
  • *deep and quite different crafting systems for warrior, stealth or mage playthroughs
  • *Radiant Story feature which alters each playthrough
  • *Joinable Rebel faction, suggesting different outcomes for the Civil War
  • *Many more features in the vanilla game allows for some truly ambitious mods!

Based on this info, I'm estimating (personally) 5-10 playthroughs of around 300-500 hours each, spread out over a period of several years. The first playthrough, I imagine probably 300 - 500 hours.

Also, Fallout 3: New Vegas? What? :banghead:

Todd Howard confirmed that your race will not affect the quests you get , but some decision will lead to some quests and close some as well

Good enough I guess. The ways of Todd are inscrutable after all.

100 hours extra than oblivion?
seeing how i have work and school now
i hope it takes a very long time to finish this game
i will not treat it like a call of duty game (a condem)
i will savour every moment

Well the poll is mainly about single playthroughs , if you count all playthroughs you can easily play the game for infinity ....

Well I play multiple characters at a time so.... if I estimate probably an average of 500 for a single playthrough :)

Did you play FO3 on very hard as well ?
It was probably the hardcoe mode that slowed you down in FONV .
I personally think FO3 has a bit more content than FONV . Because FO3 definitely felt longer to me .

I don't recall to be honest. I think I started FO3 on normal and then increased the difficulty later.

FO3 was the game that sort of re-introduced me to gaming after about a 20-year hiatus. I really liked the game, but after looking around for some FO3 mods on TESNexus, I discovered Oblivion and there was something about the game world, even the vanilla version, that lent itself to roleplaying and exploration in a way that I didn't experience with FO3.

For me, however FNV provided a lot longer playthrough than FO3, even though I had DLC for FO3. Maybe it was because I used fast travel in FO3? The metro tunnels were kind of annoying to navigate, so I used fast travel.

I don't use fast travel in New Vegas or Oblivion.

i finished all the games mentioned in under 100 hours. fallout 3 being the shortest by far. im expecting skyrim to be between 100 and 200 hours since they said that even though the game world is the same size as oblivion its filled with more stuff.

I have the tendency to rush through games and still won't finish the main quest. And I think that is because I haven't played a single game in the last 4 years except Mass Effect 1 + 2 that gave me the feeling as Oblivion did when I played it for the first time in 2007. If Skyrim reach my expectations I will make three characters, and with them I play as the typical Mage, Warrior and Rogue and complete the game and all it's guild quests. So I think that November/December 2011 Is just going to disappear just like my well trained body.
