How much you pay for Fallout 4?

Post » Wed Dec 02, 2015 6:02 pm

Hello,

I wanted to ask how much you have paid for your copy of Fallout 4.

After checking over the internet i have noticed that there are places where you can pay 1$ for access to steam account with Fallout 4 copy.

I think that it's unfair for people who have paid the full/regular price, also this makes huge loss for company in income.

What do you think about it?

I paid about $110 for my Pipboy Edition. Shipping and all that included. That sounds like a scam by the way.

EDIT: Also I love these guys so much I don't mind giving them that much for a game.

I haven't seen anywhere cheaper than $40 which is how much my key was, but I definitely wouldn't trust a $1 deal, no way. Definite scam.

The thing works like:

"you buy access to steam account (abusing family program), than you download the game, and play offline mode" or something like this as it is described in the offer.

$80 AUD from JB Hi-Fi - because it's a pre-order I get a free perk poster (yay lol). Went with JB Hi-Fi because it was $90 at EB Games and $80 US on Steam (plus I wanted a physical disc).

I wouldn't trust that $1 Steam thing, although I know nothing about it.

It's not that i would like to buy that. I have reviewed the offer and everyday people buy different games from that seller including old Fallouts, MGS V, and many many more etc. and it works for them.

But after working in Quality Assurance in IT Company i feel personally offended when someone steals hard work of developers and testers.

They're trying to cheat the system by letting people access a steam account, get the game, then go offline - it doesn't work this way, first off, and would be considered a form of piracy if attempted. Don't do it. It's a good way to get in trouble. Edit: and, of course, it's a direct violation of Steam's terms of service.

That sounds about as legit as robbing a bank. That's the sort of thing that gets accounts suspended.

Also, when sharing games with family, only one person can play that game at a time. Sounds more like a scam to me and anybody who parts with their money for something like that (Even $1) is an idiot, who I would like to talk to about a bridge I'm selling.

I mean, face it. Somebody sells access to their Steam games for $1 to a hundred people, he's just made $100.

In this case shouldn't Bethesda or someone else do something about it?

If you, me and other people pay regular price for the game, and other people don't where is the justice in this?

I know that it's with our personal feelings and peace of mind, but people who support this steal the same way from company like from people who pay normal price.

There are many online retailers selling the game for less than the full retail price, but that may not be what you're talking about since it's not a big deal if someone got someone for less than you by shopping around provided the price and product are legitimate. Are you talking only about the scams and "deals" that try to bypass terms of service and the law?

You might want to PM GStaff and let him know about this thing. The whole deal reeks of scam.

As for the main question.. I paid 0€ since I haven't bought the game at all. My computer is too old and slow for even attempting to run it and I don't own consoles either.

In fact from my calculation from this moment:

192 copies of Fallout 4 access sold for 1$ each. On steam Game costs 60$: 192 * 60 = 11520$

11520$ -192$ = 11300$+ loss for Bethesda

And game is not even released at the moment, when i looked on MGS V yesterday it was 74k$ loss for Konami.

Yes i'm talking about such case.

I'm observing a guy who sells games so in this "access" model bypassing steam rules.

For example now he has more than 7500+ positive comments that it works and only 34 comments that something went bad.

For example the most expensive game on his auctions is AC Syndicate for about 4$.

I wrote on contact email with Bethesda and the person which was looking into it did not even read the content of the mail because i think explanation of the cause was too long for him.

He just looked on the topic name which was "Information about Loss on game access abuse ... bring Justice to Gamers." (could be miss leading) and responded with this:

But you misunderstand, it isn't going to work for those who bought it. It doesn't work, it is an absolute scam and that's that. Those people who do buy it will have to move on and get the game elsewhere.

Ha wow, that's a really lame cookie-cutter reply from Derek at Bethesda, sounds like he needs to read the messages and learn to give legitimate replies.

Well auction says:

"Accounts are shared by multiple users, you cannot change name/password."

"If you will have any problem with the game you can contact me all the time"

Well there are thousands of positive comments so somehow this must work, or people just ignore that 1$ abuse.

From what i was reading it was like downloading the game to your pc, and playing offline. I do not know if it works, never played this way. Will have to check what happens with steam game after i turn off the internet while being logged in.

You don't seem to realize that scammers can fake ratings and reviews, do you? That is what is happening, stop thinking otherwise. Are you reading the replies here? Steam allows one person to be logged on and play at a time, it does. not. work. It is a scam with fake information to fool people, just like it has clearly fooled you.
