It depends how long it takes before we get TES VI. :) Most likely 1000+, and it's not wasted time...

I will not waste any time playing Skyrim. It is not a waste if I enjoy it.

This is the answer. It's not a waste at all. It's how I enjoy my leisure time.

I tried to be realistic, because in Oblivion I logged 150 hours and if Skyrim is better, it would be about double that.

101-300 hours. I guess I am a small timer. I'll make three characters and gorge myself on the game for about a month, but after that I will probably burn out, and once I burn out, I tend not to go back.

I don't understand how you can spend 1000s of hours on it? I'm estimating I've spent somewhere in between 300 and 500 hours on Oblivion, and I've done everything on it that you can do numerous times. How do you then spend double, even 10 times, that amount of time on it?

All way down I declare "waste" and all it forms as a replacement for "spend enjoying"

Well... It was about 4 to 7 hours every day for 4 years for Morrowind. So, it's about 8k hours for that (including mods, obviously). Well, I still haven't had a chance to try MGE, soooo you could add 1k hour on top of that.

And with 2-handed magic, dual weilding and dragons... Skyrim will take... Ever! That's my answer.

UPD.
How do you then spend double, even 10 times, that amount of time on it?

The answer is: mods! That's the way you should play TES since Morrowind, and I don't wanna hear anything about "console expirience" since PC could be linked to any TV and have gamepad. The only reason for consoles to exist (in my mind) - exclusive titles, and I bet TES isn't one of those ;)

2 hours 3 days a week - 6

6hours every week for 4 weeks is 24

24 hours every month for 12 months is 288 hours

288 hrs for 5 years 1,008 hrs

2 hours a day 3 days a week is a pittance

This coupled with not rushing the quests, getting distracted, mods on pc? Pfffft
