It really depends. I felt I had to mod oblivion a ton because there was just so much about the game I wanted to fix. But with Fallout 3, I didn't mod it nearly as much because I felt that they got most of it right.

A bit of it. I'm not really into huge mods that allow us to go back to like Morrowind or something. Little changes and additions make a big difference. Mods are usually 1/4 of my gameplay.

While I would love to try out some mods, I do play on console. Even so, Im sure the game will have more then enough content for me to enjoy it fully.

Almost none. Just have the unofficial patches for OB installed (my compliments to Arthmoor & co), none for FO3.

I'll probably spend about three times as much time playing a modded Skyrim than vanilla Skyrim. Maybe more if there are some good TC mods.

Just mods for texture replacements, environmental features and some gameplay "fixes" (like removing quest markers, compass icons, fast travel and such). That's all I need. Oh, bug-fixes and such as well of course.

Quest mods, landscape mods, character mods, dungeon mods, house mods? No for me. They usually just detract from the "spirit" of TES that is in the vanilla game.

Can you please stop making threads without an explanation in the title?
It's getting rather annoying having to click on every single one of your threads to find out what they are about. I can't even see what they are about with the thread preview since you put the explanation in the poll...

I hope for a flawless game that won't need essential mods to make it playable. In that case I'd play the game without mods.

a bit of it leaning on alot of it

fyi, its impossible (as far as my 4 years of experience) to play the game with only mods. you have to have the vanilla game esm. as a base for the mods to work so no = vanilla no = sprinkles.

edit: changed out to only

I meant people that pretty much get it just to mod.

A lot of the mods I use are custom races (designed to look like vanilla races), armor, weapons, and things like that. I also like to touch up, expand upon, and tweak what the game has already offered.

As far as time spent solely playing mods, such as modded dungeons, quests, etc., I'm sure, in time, I'll spend a good 100 or so hours on that, but I'll mostly be playing the vanilla game.

A lot of it depends on what kinds of mods are released though. I'll also spend a significant amount of time modding it myself.

If I had a PC to run it I'd get a mod or two, mostly to enhance balance and fix things that I find broken in the game and maybe a quest pack or two if they're really good.
But as I'm a console player I can only hope they manage to get their deal with Microsoft and Sony about letting console players use the kit to mod with.

Ah... :foodndrink:

I don't expect to decide until next year whether to buy it, but if I do, odds are that I will use the game to mod more than to actually play it.

Probably? Alot. But none of your poll choices work for me.

I like Oblivion. It's not "meh". But I still use lots of mods...... different ones each time.

If Skyrim goes like Fallout 3 & NV (my most recent comparisons), I'll play it once unmodded. But each play after that will have a different set of mods. Doesn't mean I think the base game isn't good, just means that I like to keep trying new things.

My first playthrough is always unmodded.

i feel, from my experience with morrowind and oblivion, Bethesda make a good game, and generally the modders just defecate all over it.
don't get my wrong some mods are useful. Better Bodies for Morrowind making people look vaguely lifelike, or tolerable. (I never opted for the nudity option there)
but a lot just seem to be someone found out how to use the construction set, now in your cell there's a ring that boost all your stats by 100, and makes you invisible. what's the point in that?

to be completely honest though, i just don't like mods.
