I'd hazard a guess that they may have used the Wikipedia pages for most popular given names.

So what is Codsworth saying? I'm tired of watching adds I can't hear just to watch Codsworth who I can't hear. Does someone want to be really great and tell me what he says? Why couldn't they use subtittles? I really hope the game has subtittles.

I can foresee youtube videos explaining what names work & what ones don't when the game comes out. for me, i'll just save type a name see if it works if not load my save.

I've never met anyone named phil ,besides if they went off any official database it wouldn't be (1000 names so about top 500 for males and top 500 for females )
