How new vegas should have ended

After dealing with Ulysses you get a package from him or his corpse and you're to deliver it to the border of Mojave. However on the way there, Benny - a cyborg Benny if he was killed - encounters you, shoots you in the head and takes the package.

New Vegas should have ended in 2242 when the Enclave successfully unleashes the FEV Curling-13 virus.

Yep. Pretty much.

The most logical ending really.

No New Vegas should have ended in 2162 with Unity.

That would be difficult, seeing that the Chosen One kinda kills "president" dike and nukes the oil rig.

Then helps kill off the continental-bound Enclave forces in the west.

Oh, and then they try to go Nazi on the east coast, and get killed by their betters. Again.

If the Unity happened and the Enclave then came ashore, how long would it take the Super Mutants to overrun the Enclave.

Since a few of the second gen gave them a run for their life at Mariposa I think that if Unity had continued then Enclave would never have been able to get the FEV at all, especially since it was their main facility for creating new super mutants.

Well, yes all of those in there did so, but when we visisted Mariposa again in Fallout 2 there weren't that many down there.
That's what I meant, not few out of the total number, but that the total number should have been fewer than the Enclaves forces.
Hell, seeing as how I still go my ass kicked by Enclave Patrols in their PA and wielding a Pulse Rifle I don't see how mutants with barely any armor and few weapons could give Enclave... ENCLAVE! A run for their life.
