How do people level up in the game?

Post » Wed Dec 14, 2011 12:03 am

I have been reading posts in the forum and many people say they find the game too easy? HUH? I find the game hard. I keep dying alot. I don't like it, tried making a Dead is Dead character, but keep dying all the time. So my question is, how do you people level up then?

I think maybe because I keep dying alot is because I didn't level up good enough. I didn't use up my perk points and kept putting everything into magic. Now I put some into health. I finally used up some perk points and find the game a bit easier now, but still keep dying alot, so I can't understand how people can say the game is too easy on Max difficulty.

So if the game is too easy, how come you keep doing the same thing over and over again then? One great thing about Skyrim is there is multiple ways of doing things, so why not play it differently instead of asking for a higher difficulty level.

I am hoping to read posts on people who find the game easy and explain to me or us how they level up their character to make the game easy. I am finding I am having a hard time without reloading because of me dying alot. I even have to put the difficulty level down to the easiest setting becuase it just gets frustrating after reloading the 15th time.

All I can say is, instead of putting all the level ups into health put it into magika if not a mage user, or don't max out skills or perks if you find the game easier.

So can you please explain why the game is easy and please say how you play the game and level up to make the game easy.

Train using a trainer > level smithing > train with a trainer > level alchemy > train with a trainer > level enchant > get best weapons and armor > enchant with best enchants > god mode everything > come to forums and complain game is to easy.

Hmmm... I don't use trainers. Would that be why I find the game so hard?

I would like to hear (ok read :P) why people find this game too easy.

I don't find the game too easy. As long as you stray away from Enchanting and Smithing you'll love it.

No, you find the game an appropriate difficulty. People who complain it is too easy have god-moded their armor and weapons through crafting. :/

I level up by doing what a thief does, sneaking around, breaking into houses, stealing all their goldz, ??? profit.

If you have a logical set of skills you level up and put perks into (offensive, support, defense) and you make sure you've got some decent equipment, the game is not too hard. Of course you can't just walk anywhere and expect to live. For example, don't got exploring in the vicinity of falkreath immediately, because you'll die to all the spriggans. And bears. But the usual bandit rabble and normal draugrs shouldn't be a problem early on.

But those perks are really important. Skills where you don't put perk points in are quite weak.

Hey OP, if you're saving too many of your perks to spend later, that might be part of the problem. You only get two advantages to leveling up: a boost to one of your core stats (health, endurance, magic) and a perk. If you save the perk for later, you've essentially only gone up a half-level...but as far as the enemies go, they're one full level higher. So if you've got six perks saved, you're essentially letting yourself get three levels behind the enemies you face.

In some cases, they may have powergamed. In others they may have stumbled across a better combination of skills (some, obviously, will work better than others.) In yet other cases, they may be used to much harder games (the Souls games, for instance), and just find the game much easier in comparison. And then, of course, several of those in combination.

I didn't find it too easy on Adept until recently (over level 50), but then I've played a character with a wide range of skills, so none of them leveled very high very quickly (my first "100" skill was Smithing... at level 48) and I didn't "max out" any with all it's perks. (I still only have like 6-7 perks in my main combat skill, one-handed. 4x Armsman, Fighting Stance, 1-2x Bladesman.)

Whereas someone who just leveled, say, Smithing, Heavy Armor, and Two-handed, and maxed out Smithing at low level to get awesome heavy armor and a weapon.... yeah, they might be carving through stuff better.

Your build and the gear you get can give widely different difficulty levels.

Oblivion was easy like hell...

You could level up to 30 and be a god...

(Alright, you can also be a god in Skyrim.... If you know how to do it)
But I don't want to be a god...
I don't like to drink super potions mixed with super enchants and super smith to make super items

It sounds like you're playing a magic user. I would suggest putting points into health to start off. Perhaps get it to 200 before you raise magicka or stamina. Then go ahead and put points into magicka so you can cast a bit more spells without potion use. Perks in the magic trees should half the casting cost of the type of spell the perk was for. Stamina increases you carry weight and how far you can sprint. If you plan to loot alot of useless items or run away a lot this might be useful to you. Though i'm not sure how far away you really want to run using magic so that point might be moot in your case. If you really want to go down the "dead is dead" route then hp and stamina, more likely hp, will be of importance to you. Abuse mage armor as much as you can if you are going down the magic route. Light armor is your other option but will make your mage armor less effective. Hope this helped. Let me know how things turn out. ;)

The people who say the game is too easy must spam exploits and play on Novice... I level up normally, and play on Expert and it's one of the hardest games ever. :celebration:

Stamina increases weight capicity? This is the first I have herd of it.

Yeah right now I was almost playing a pure mage. I tried using a dagger or sword wasn't doing me very well so was using destruction more. So now I use 1 handed weapons so I can level that up to be better. I guess my problem right now in saving my perks is, I don't know where to put them. I don't want to put them into 2 handed or other perk trees I don't care for. I would put them in destruction or 1handed but not high enough level for it yet, so that is why they are being "saved".

Also this would speak alot for people finding the game to easy and wanting a challenge. Why don't they "save" up their perks then? It might not be what they really want, but it sure makes the game harder for me at least. So maybe saving thier perks or putting them where it won't make then "god like" is what they should do then. This can prove the challenge what they are looking for.
