I have seen several posts of players stating they have multiple characters and play options going. I assume they have found a way to store save game data and manipulate so they can rejoin their different lives.

But how is this done? File manipulation? (I am referring to PC here )

Characters are divided for you, unlike previous games. Just select a different character when you load.

Even on console?

on xbox one in the load menu you press Y to choose between characters

Still would be better to have completely separate save lists, but hey, it's progress

Yeah, if we're really, really lucky, Fallout 7 will give us the ability to name our save games.
