How do I post images in comments here?

Post » Thu Dec 17, 2015 11:13 pm

Hey everyone. I'm trying to get some input on some issues I'm having with some mods. I'm trying to post screenshots of my issue, but I can't seem to figure out how to post images in comments here. Could someone help me out please? It would be very much appreciate. :)

The forum doesn't support inline images in people's posts, I'm afraid. I think even to post links you need a minimum number of posts (5, I think, but I'm not sure).

I see. That would explain why I couldn't find a tool to post images. Thanks for the quick response! :)

The only way to share images on this board is to upload them to a photo hosting site (such as Imgur) and then post links to them. You need to make 10 posts to the forum before you're allowed to post links.

Welcome to the forums, BTW.

Many forum questions such as this are answered in the http://www.gamesas.com/topic/724862-forum-rules-and-general-information/ that you'll find stickied at the top of each forum. :)

I never found information about link posting privileges there. Of course, I could have missed it and being on my phone right now, I can't easily look for it again.

I think the forum information thread could be organized a bit better. It's not always easy to find what one is looking for.

"Other than avatars, image posting on this forum has been disabled in both content and signatures. However, you may link to images as long as they are appropriate."

That's not what I meant. You need a number of posts/time spent on the forum to be able to post links, people often ask about it but I have no idea what the exact requirements are. When new members say they can't attach images, telling them to link them solves nothing because they can't link anything either.

I believe it's somewhere in the region of 10 posts and a weeks good behaviour after joining taking into account the moderators discretion of course.

Yea, no images on here. Well, expect your avatar or icon. You can post links to images but you need 10 posts before links can even be shared.

Welcome to the forums!

Ah. I see what you mean now. Yes, in addition to being (in my opinion) poorly organized, the info thread also needs to be updated. That posting requirement didn't exist when Summer created the thread.

Yes, it applies to everyone who joins, you can thank the ad spammers as the cause of this restriction.

Thanks for the quick response Rohugh and totally understand about spam prevention. I'd rather have this requirement than spam everywhere, and it also encourages people to be more active in the community.

I just posted, what I would consider, 10+ meaningful posts and I wouldn't have done that if the requirement wasn't there. Also got my mod thread up in the mod section.

I'm an old school Beth fan (since Daggerfall), so it's kind of silly for me not to have joined these forums earlier. But from now going forward, I think I found a good home for myself.
