Some people think the Dovahkiin is a Shezzarine but I personally think he's something new and unique.
The thing is, there's so much existing stuff to expand upon that a brand new thing is absurd.

BTW, in reference to the being "gifted by Akatosh" with the soul, as said by Argeir, I see this as the result of the Nords apparently adopting the Imperial Pantheon between the fall of the 3rd Empire and the game. Old nordic writings still refer to Kyne, for example, but the Greybeards talk about Kynareth. Shezzar is part of Akatosh, giving mannish aspects to Auri-El.

Alduin is unnecessary to reload the Mundus for an update, because Talos defragments it. Of course, the Thalmor are trying to uninstall him. If Alduin eats the world, time restarts at the Dawn Era anyways, so Alduin is advancing the Thalmor's goals. Talos needs to remain as to stop both Alduin and the Thalmor.

The Thalmor don't have any reason to want Alduin to eat the world, or in your terms reinstall it. They don't want a new installation they don't even want a format where you can use data recovery programs. They want a complete wipe, and then a destruction of the disk. The Hardware needs to remain but any possibility of software ever being installed again needs to go.

I hate this anology...

Btw, the dragons are Jills are lesser Aedra, right?
The dragons in skyrim aren't jills.

The Jills are the minute-menders of Akatosh, appearing during dragon breaks to fix things up. They never appear during Skyrim.

The dragons in Skyrim do appear to be divine. Considering how they describe themselves (and how Dremora describe them) is similar to Altmeri descriptions of pre-Mundus spirits, they are at the very least more than flying, intelligent lizards.
