HOW to record a Crysis 2 game?

Post » Thu Aug 04, 2011 12:45 am

sorry, im a noob at this so dont blame me. :X
wich software is best for recording crysis 2? dont tell me fraps pls it takes to many fps away.
do i need to decode/encode/do something with the video file?
are there any tutorials for this? (must not be crysis 2, but should explain how to do it.)
what settings are best for recording? (depends on the software..)
i wanted to make some tutorials that WOULD be very useful if i knew how to record that ****. :/
thanks for help :D

No, if you play Crysis 2 in window mode (Options -> disable full screen) you can leave the console **** out and treat your video normally. You might want to adapt the resolution, though.

Yes, the standard settings when you're playing in window mode.

Just the standard settings, always the best except you want more quality than performance.

I'm pretty sure that no matter which recording tool you use, the files will get very big really fast so you definitely need to compress them before uploading. So if you want to make tutorials you obviously need to montage the videos, render them and if they are still too big, compress them. I usually record the video with the maximum quality, edit with the maximum quality, render them uncompressed and then compress them because I am using premiere elements as my montage program and at least for that program, the codec options and results can be really tedious.

Well I guess you could use fraps to capture crysis 2 and talk in the mic at the same time, then compress it down so no editing needed ;)
