How do i remove healingflames start spell?

Post » Wed Jun 06, 2012 6:21 am

I have tried to remove the start spells "Healing" and "Flames" with the console commad...Player.RemoveSpell...and the propper ID, but i get the answer in the console that my character don't have those regardless that they are in my spell book and that i can use them. This is from a character at level 40 so there is no option to start over at this time for me, is there no mod like it was to Oblivion or Morrowind where you did hold down a key and klicked on the spell you wanted to remove from the spell book?

Sure it wasn't the Spell Tome ID and not the actual Spell ID?

player.removespell 00012fcd (removes Flames)
player.removespell 00012fcc (removes Healing)

If that doesn't work, then I assume it's because they're starter spells and can't be removed using the console. Assuming you're on PC and not just trying to carry this over to a 360, there's apparently a mod to remove those.

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=3405 Just select Files and scroll down to the last one.

Yes that is the IDs i have been trying with....

player.removespell 00012fcd (removes Flames)
player.removespell 00012fcc (removes Healing)

...looks like it is an issue with that they are starter spells, read it on another web site.

(I'm on PC)

Because he does, period.

OT:
I really don't understand why can't we have spell delete command or at least start with no spell.
This kinda screws anyone who wants to RP as pure warrior.

*shrug* I think the logic is that anyone alive in Tamriel "today" will have at least a vague knowledge of magic - such as exemplified by the two very low level starter spells. Tamriel is a land flush with magic energy; probably every person absorbs those "baby" spells at birth, or at least before going out to adventure. If they don't fit a preconceived idea for a toon, just don't use them. If you never use them, they cease to be an issue....

Actually, the stars in the sky are in fact holes to Aetherius that leak magic onto Nirn. That is why every person, and even some monsters, can use magic.

Uh.... yeah, I was less concerned with the mechanics than the end result.

It's just an interesting part of the lore that explains why everyone can do magic.

If that were the case, how come you never see random bandits or other clearly non magical characters ever try to hit you with the low level spells. Would be pretty funny, actually.

Um.... I have bandits use low-level spells on my toons all the time. Not just in dungeons either. The bandits in the overhang almost under Dragonsreach, the bandits in Halted Stream Camp, the bandits in Redoran's Retreat, the bandits in Mistwatch....

Yes. Special spellcaster type bandits do use magic.

Normal melee or ranger bandits won't ever use magic.

Yes, but as Lytha said, I've never had a bandit hitting me with a big two hander, then attempt to burn my face off.

They're melee centric. Flames does 8 points of damage a second. Why would they give up swinging their 2 handed weapon in favor of something they really aren't that talented in?

While everyone does have magic in them (that is why every character has starting MP), it doesn't mean everyone knows (or wants to know) how to use it.
That would especially go for races like Nord, Orc and, most of all, Redguard (they find people who use magic to be weak and cowards with only exception being Sword singers).
Still, while I do agree that this is not that big of a problem, I simply don't see a valid reason why there couldn't exist a command which would allow us to delete spells we don't want.
Also, only because I don't use them, it doesn't mean it's not there and they still continue to be an issue.

If you don't use them, what's the harm of them being there? It's not like they're taking up inventory space.
