I just killed that Frostbite Spider and lost Arvel after freeing him of the web using My Firepower. He just ran away as I first freed him then killed the spider. I didn't find it anywhere further till the Iron Door requiring that Golden Claw. Now, I think m in a trouble ! How do I retrieve the Golden Claw. Where to find Arvel now ?? Pls respond fastly>>>

He should still be nearby lying dead on the floor, killed by the first draugr you see, right before the swinging blades trap.

He will be in that dungeon somewhere. Make sure he isn't laying dead somewhere!

If he's killed by the swing spiked gate, he can have been thrown into he corner, and may get hidden behind the rubble. He's always dead.

I've only ever had him get as far as the swinging gate. He runs across the pressure plate and triggers it. Did he get flung somewhere to the right of it?


If you can't find him, you can just reload a prior save. It should've autosaved when you entered the Barrow.

Yeah....glitched out through the floor or into a pillar.....seriously....Skyrim does this kinds stuff all the time. Just be totally sure you've checked inch by inch before you throw it out of an upstairs window.

Have you tried marking the quest as active in your journal? That will make an arrow point directly at Arvel. It won't help if he fell through the floor or anything but he might just be lying in a dark corner somewhere.

Yes, he will always be dead and lying next to the swing trap a bit further into the same cell.
