How do I run?

Post » Sat Dec 11, 2010 10:06 am

I know it's a stupid question, but I installed Fallout 1 yesterday, and although I'm slowly getting to grips with the controls, I can't work out how to run, other than setting myself to autorun, which I don't want to do.

Also, there's a bug where every so often, the whole screen turns black, and I have to "erase" the blackness by moving the cursor everywhere, which gets rid of it. Does anyone know where I can find a patch for this?

Thanks in advance.

I seem to recall double-clicking on where you wish to walk to makes you run there.

^^
What they said.
The gameplay menu also should have an option to turn on 'always run'

Double clicking sometimes works, but I found I can hold Shift while clicking. Thanks for the replies.

If you go to the options, there is a option you can change to set it to "Run Always"

press shift and click i think, it's been a while since i played so correct me if i'm wrong but i've got a feeling you can do that.
also, if you've got autorun on you can do a shift and click to walk somewhere.

i experienced that 'black out' too, i dont remember it when playing FO1 when it first came out so it's probably linked to more recent operating systems. it's a bit annoying but only happens occasionally, when you first get to an area and it doesnt seriously affect gameplay so i just put up with it.
move the screen off to one direction and then back again to clear it quickly.
