How to run wire: Who the hell knows?

I am trying to set up a beacon. Have everything built, but there is no option to run wire? I have little patience with with the unknown, let alone crafting things.

do you have all the materials needed to run a wire? I couldn't run a wire to a light yesterday because I lacked some components.

Hit space when looking at the generator. It even says so at the buttom there where you have bindings like E to build etc

It is badly explained in game.

1. There is no wire to build
2. Go into workbench mode, on PC it is hold V key down till you see the build options, green border around settlement, etc
3. In this build mode, walk over to a generator - close enough so that you get a lower line on screen indicating various interaction options

4. On PC it it and will say Spacebar to attach wire - so just press Spacebar or whatever it is if on console. This will run a wire out from generator

5. Move over to whatever you want to attach wire and power up, hit spacebar again to connect the wire

6. You can also do this reverse order - from object to generator

7. The distance you can run wire without pylon support is very, very short - so look for the two pylon type connectors under your build options for power, connectors - to run wire over any modest or longer distance, you need to build pylons, and attach wore to pylon, then run new wire from pylon yo destination

8. Have i said the game does not explain this and many other things very well?

How do I run a wire to the floor lamp that doesn't have an attach wire option? How do I power the lamp?

One of the options in relays mounts to the wall of the building. Just run a wire from your generator to that and the entire building should have power.

This post was a life saver for me! I was a little confused because in game it's not called a relay, but a conduit so I spent a few seconds figuring that out when I couldn't find a relay option anywhere... Dummy me... :)

But, in the end it works great! Thanks! :goodjob:
