How to say goodbye to Oblivion (RP ideas)?

Post » Thu Oct 13, 2011 1:07 pm

Ok I know that TES games never end, but I have this idea that I'd like to roleplay an ending of sorts in Oblivion, since although I love it I'm unlikely to play it for a while after Skyrim comes out. I've done all the guild quests, the main quest, and lots of other stuff using various characters and I just really want to leave Oblivion at a good place using one of my main characters: so either full stealth Dunmer or my Altmer pure magic character.

Here are some ideas I have considered:

- Journey to all the cities on foot one last time, gathering ingredients and admiring the scenery. Then walk to Frostcrag spire. Spend an in-game day making potions and enchanting, eat dinner, read. Lie down on the bed, then save and quit.

- Climb the Jerall Mountains. Find a tall spot from which we look north to Skyrim. Get out the portable campsite. Sit by the fire, sleep, save and quit.

- Something ridiculous like go on a murderous rampage in the Imperial City until I'm cut down by guards.

- Retreat to New Sheogorath and RP a descent into madness.

Steam tells me I've spent 294 hours playing Oblivion, I'd like to round it out to 300 doing something that feels final.

Please share if you have suggestions!

Go to Dive Rock, save your game, jump off, save your game half way down. That way you can go either way when you come back to Oblivion.

Both of these sound wonderful. Start in Leyawiin and work north. Go to Frostcrag to pick up some food and supplies and head out into the mountains with your camping equipment.

I like it!

Or what about:

- Discard all possessions except prisoner's clothes. Walk to Jerall. Save on the border. When skyrim is released, attempt to recreate character as closely as possible and journey from South Skyrim north as soon as possible (RPing it's the same character continuing journey into Skyrim)

- build /find some kind of aging mod that saps health, fatigue. Retreat to a cosy home, maybe Bruma. Live out some time reading etc. Die of old age, to be reincarnated in nearby Skyrim.

I'd say just find the biggest baddest battle you can and fight until you are cut down.

-Make every character you see chase you while going north, flee towards skyrim until you reach the border and fight them, if you go down, well.. you regain consiciusness on 11.11.11. If you live, continue journey to skyrim and hide until 11.11.11.
