How to search for castles and palaces?

Post » Mon Aug 15, 2011 6:57 am

How do I find the castles and palaces on the travel map? I would get a quest every once in a while telling me to go to a certain palace or castle, but it never shows up when I type it in the search bar through the map. I don't have to manually find it do I? How am I suppose to know where to go with the vague details they give me?

I'm just taking a stab here but my experience is misspelling the location. When I get a place I'm supposed to go, I actually write it on a piece of paper so when I go to the world map, I spell it correctly. You can also leave part of the name out. For instance, yesterday I got a quest to go to "old Gwynyrrya". So I just typed "gwynyrrya" and old gwynyrrya game up on the map.

I double checked like 15 times though to see if it's misspelled, and it happens with every castle or palace I'm assigned to.

You have to start from the beginning of the name. If the place is called "The ruins of mastercroft manor" then you can't just say "mastercroft manor" or "ruins of master". You have to start from the beginning: "the ruins of master" or "the ruins of m" or use the full name. Many people leave out the "the", which is what messes them up.

Lots of quests send you to the palace or castle in a certain city, in which case you'd travel to the city and look on your town map to see where it was. Could that be it?

Yeah, I always include the full thing, though I think there might be some exceptions where you can leave out the "the".

I dunno. I've tried typing Wayrest for castle wayrest, but still nothing shows up.

Oh, and BTW, I received another quest that required me to go a castle, and I actually did end up finding it on the map by typing the name... Hmm.

Castle Wayrest is a large building inside the city of Wayrest, you'll find it if you travel to Wayrest itself. The grounds and gardens of Castle Wayrest are huge, and there's a shrub line all around it separating it from the shops and houses. Look on your city map for a huge open area with a large building in the middle.

You actually don't even need to type in "the" btw.
