How do I shoot a bow in Daggerfall?

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 3:01 pm

I know for swords and such that you move the mouse, but for the life of me, I can't fire a bow!

Is there some secret to it?

I'd appreciate any help!

Ok - I'm in View Mode (where the mouse controls where you look like in Morrowind).

How do I add the target? Does that mean crosshairs?

There are no cross-hairs in daggerfall. You get to aim the hard way.

Not an issue. But my arrows still won't fire.

I checked - the arrows are equipped and not broken, the bow is equipped and not broken.

What am I missing here?

Can you see the bow in your field-of-view? I just tested a bow in Daggerfall and I have no problem firing it by using the right mouse button. Have you changed your keyboard controls at all? Some people report that re-assigning their attack buttons causes problems.

Right mouse button? So M2 as Daggerfall sees it?

Mine is set to open my inventory. Does it have to be free to use the bow?

Problem solved. That was the issue. Changing attack to M1 breaks archery. I reset them to defaults, then changed them as needed, keeping M2 for attack, and now arrows work splendidly. :)

Thanks for the help!

That must also be my issue, since I changed my attack to mouse button one as well.
