How Should I Spend 2.3 Million Gold in Skyrim?

Post » Sat Apr 05, 2014 4:41 am

Hello all.

Recently my main character thanks to a combination of extreme OCD in needing to pick EVERY single alchemy ingredient I saw, http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/16553/?, waiting until level 43 to finish grinding Speech and Alchemy (thus having hundreds and in some cases thousands of certain ingredients) now has exactly 2,336,046 gold. How should I go about spending it all? I've so far only completed the Mages Guild and only just started the Main Quest (thanks to Live Another Life) and even buying and furnishing all the houses I do not think would make much of a dent in my cash.

So any suggesstions on what to do with it? I'm honestly curious.

Head down to Cyrodiil and dump it in Lake Rumare, save time.

You don't need gold in Skyrim, that's the boring answer. It's totally meaningless unfortunately.

What do you do? Hope you don't have a wife... I kid I kid.

I like the idea of dropping it all in a room and swimming in it.

Basically just like Garrus said!

Especially blacksmite stuffs. If you have the weight, gems and time, you could re-master smithing in no time!

Oh also, if you have Hearthfire. Build a house! It's suprising how much all the material will cost in the end!

There'll have to be some 'No Diving' signs put up.

I wonder if gold can cause damage like some other items can. 2 million+ gold suddenly colliding with the player character would be a crazy and extravagant death.

What if you used Unrelenting Force and then used Slow Time on the coins?

1. My OCD has been extending since I began also to Smithing materials. And though Smithing has yet to be raised I have over 700 Iron Ore, 150 Gold Ore, 300 Silver Ore, Hundreds of Other Ores + Tons Dwemer artifacts (+a mod that allows all Dwemer items but not weapons and armor to be turned into Dwemer Metal). I think I have more than enough to get Smithing to 100 and have enough Iron left over to have enough nails and fitting for my homestead.

2. After this I have over 1000 Health Potions (fortify and regular combined), over 1000 Magicka Potions, 1500 Resit Fire Potions, 450 Resist Frost Potions, and 300 Resist Shock Potions. I kept them for possible future use.

3. Did I mention my OCD before???? I have no need for food. I think I may have a hording problem.

4. I am a mage and only use mage followers.

5. Could always use more Moon Sugar........ And cheese is always needed.

I think it is impossible to drop money.

Perhaps. Though it would not be every skill. Would stick to just those I role play to use.

Damn. And here I though I had a good plan to turn Dragon Bridge into a toll bridge and never let any Thalmor or Imperials cross.

Thanks for the advice.

Sadly the more I look at this the more I think I may have to revert saves to before I got done with all that crafting (thankfully I saved about 2\3 done for fear of crashing). I'll sell them until my Speech gets to 100. Then like before I'll keep the Resist Potions, Health Potions, and Magicka Potions. However in addition I'll keep about 30 random ones for selling if my funds ever get to low. The rest I'll stick in a random barrel somewhere I will forget. Or maybe put into my safe in my house. This way I'll not have god like levels of money and can still have fun looting for a purpose. (looting without stealing my Nord never steals).

Possibly. Though it would not be the housecarl. I made Gregor thanks to the M Home is Your Home mod not folow me to my homestead but instead have Dawnstar's Inn as his home. I would kill him but I may need him later for a gift to Boethia depending on if after Dawnguard I can use a mortal (thanks to UFO) Serana as the sacrifice or not. I do not trust any men in my home alone with my wife. Thus why he will not be anywhere near my homestead nor will I ever hire a bard or a carriage driver.

It would be Annekke Crag-Jumper my steward. She is also my mother in law as I married her daughter Slygja.
