How should the Nords be revamped?

Post » Tue Dec 29, 2009 5:39 pm

So everybody are Nord lovers all of a sudden? These guys will be as important as Dark Elves to Morrowind...which wasn't all that important. Just because it's home of race A, don't mean that a lot of B C D E F isn't taking part in what's going on. All important people are not going to be a Nords. Also Khajiit for life!

I'm pretty sure he was joking, though sarcasm is difficult to pick-up on the internet.

I want them to be more spartan-esque, and have epic beards. they really didnt stand out as fierce warriors to me in Oblivion... they should look bigger and display some Nord pride!

Yup, I agree with what others are saying. Tats, scars, beards - basically, the nords need to look a lot more badass and dangerous.

If a nord turns into a vampire a second time, is that "re-vamped" enough for ya? Okay, okay. Perhaps thats a bad joke.

It has been said many times, but not often enough yet. Beards and tattoos.

And tattoos for Dunmer as well. Make the races unique and awesome like in Morrowind. Bosmer can remain the joke race, never liked them anyway ^_^

And why exactly should the females be taller than the males? I am not necessarily objecting, I just don't see why.

It's an interesting subversion of traditional height differences between sixes?

I'd like to see more of the Elvish ancestry of the Breton's come through. Sort of like that http://images.uesp.net//9/96/Breton_official.jpg in the Oblivion Pocket Guide, I want them to not be so damn bald and weak looking all the time. I'd like to see a bit more haughtiness and some more grace. I'm tired of bald and nagging.

I do not think this should be a general rule, but you could have a specific clan called 'Frost Giantesses' or whatever, composed of women taller than most men, and you get involved somehow with this clan (fighting, helping, etc...).

all the races need to be more individualized. they all kind of blended together in Oblivion. Like unique voices and body shapes.

Also beards.

Assuming they do have Alyied ancestry, it would make the most sense if individuals have very different heights (a unisix range of about 4'10-6'3).

Bosmer still have their own racial traits though. Some might have Ayleid ancestry, but not enough to compensate for the fact that the mother's race is the one that's expressed with a few traits from the father.

In short, any Ayleids that fled to Valenwood would have been assimilated and would not have drastically changed the Bosmer race.

I know, but at least a few should have arbitrary heights. And is there any lore that states the women are taller than the men?

First of all, beards has to be mentioned.

Second of all...

All racex except Redguard and Breton need to be revamped.

1. Beards.
2. Long and natual hair for player and npc's. (in oblivion, no hair style went longer down than to the shoulders). Change it.
3. Altmer skin is supposed to be gold, not yellow as they were in both MW and OB.
4. Variouse body shapes, like fat, thin, skinny, muscular and whatever there is.

You mean besides the fact that in every single game Bosmeri women are taller than bosmeri men?

It has to be a joke.

Oh, god forbid the 'races' develop some character.

Frggin elves and cat people. and lizards. and jolly green giants. and blacks as a separate race.

insulting.

I'm only partially joking.

I've never made a female character, but for the men at least only short hairstyles were possible, only a tiny bit past the shoulder at the longest perhaps. Mods didn't help either, the only mods I found that gave men long hair made me look like some twisted half female anime man-thing. I want my first Nord warrior character to look like me, so longer hair for men please Bethesda!
