How do you think AI in skyrim should react to being a victim of reverse pickpocketing?

I wish we wouldn't have to anymore. Like if I throw a shiny robe on the floor, the NPC should just put it on.

I do remember reading somewhere that the NPCs in skyrim will either A: fight over the items dropped or B: return it to the player. Now assuming reverse pickpocketing is in the game, how would the AI react?

maybe stages in reaction? like confusing, immediate accusations, throwing an uproar over lost item if its apparent and putting other guards and people on alert severely screwing with yuor chances of escape?

I think it should be very character dependent. A virtuous guard given an expensive item might hold it up and ask "who's is this?" while a less honorable person might just look at it, snicker and say to themselves "i dont remember stealing this." If you give an anti-drug character skooma they should act very confused and concerned about how it got there, maybe whispering "someone is trying to frame me." As far as their reaction to catching you, it should depend on their disposition. of course this would all be really hard to implement but would be cool if they could. I dont think they should just immediately equip what you give them.

Well considering there are no explosive items, I'd expect them to confront you about it. I mean why would they get mad at someone giving them something.

Should not be in the game, had a point in Fallout with placing grenades on people, but in Skyrim there should be a proper system whereby you can give items to npcs, who should equip anything appropriate. New Vegas managed it for followers with the wheel, so no excuse.
