How should the series end?

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 4:58 pm

I don't want it to go past 2300, and I don't want an overarching "ending" to the series. If the last game is a prequel (pre-Fallout 1, post-Fallout 1/pre-Fallout2, etc.) I'd be perfectly happy with that as long as the last game is a good game. If they never go back in time, I sincerely hope that it stays between 2281-2300, it just gets to the point where chaos is too rare.

There is really only a semblance of order. Even in NCR lands, I get the feeling that Raiders are still active(though far less of a threat than before). The NCR is still built on really shaky foundations. All it would take is a handful of bad decisions for the entire operation to go under.

As for when it should end, only when the Universe has been explored to its full story potential. There are so many more themes to be explored and themes such as War that have so many facets that they can produce more quality storylines.

I say keeping it going, we don't know how the other countries in the world have been affected by the Atomic blasts, so it is possible to have it be an endless story.

As we know America is fully to be recovered in 2377. Making game at this date it would be absurd because it would barely be fallout. So i would like to have one more game set in 2316-2325 and when un canon strategy game set in 2377 and when many pre-quels. Like a game set in 50-90 years after the war in new york and many things like that. To expand the lore.

I've been mulling this over in my head for a while now, and it seems like piece (of a sort) and organization, is starting to slowly return. Soon enough, it'll all start becoming one big civilized nation again. I can't speak for any of out, but I don't want the series to go into this, I don't want to continue into the glory days of the NCR and eventually watch the world descend into another nuclear world. SO my question is this: when the money stops rolling in, and the end begins again, how do you want the series to end?

The NCR doesn't have to have a future. It's not set in stone.

As for the East coast Brotherhood of Steel. I want to see them evolve not into a country but a massive police and war organization that protects the people and stays separate from the affairs of government. Basically a nation sized group of super hero that isn't actually a nation..

Chaos is never rare, no matter the day of age or country in control. proof is in the history book.
Sure now a days we can walk outside without a fire gecko pouncing at us, but a random dog from nowhere could bite your hand like it did me.
And sure there aren't any raiders [censored], stealing or getting drugged up in a slum... oh wait! there is! How exciting.

No offense. It's just that if war never changes then it also never ends.

This. I would hate of the brotherhood (east coast) turn into a nation other when huge super hero force like thingy.

Yes but there will still be raiders, mutants, and slavers (Most notably Deathclaws which can reproduce, so that's a big danger)

Just having trees and grass doesn't stop chos, it'd just be chaos with nice scenary...

Fallout should end eventually but on a grim note, possibly another nuclear war that either destroys most or all of what's left of humanity.

I don't believe the GECK is a terraforming miracle as Bethesda made it out to be. I like the old interpretation better. The GECK had a bunch of seeds and essentially all the needs to support a basic farming community.

What are you talking about? I just mean that Vault-Tec could make geck which is a lot harder when calculate when radiation will finally go away.

Yes, of course there is always going to be chaos, but I think you know what I mean. There comes a point where there is too much order for a Fallout game, and it is likely that will come if you go too far into the future.
