How is Slow Time useful? :/

Post » Sun Dec 11, 2011 12:14 pm

I got the first stage of the Slow Time shout the other day, unlocked it, was pretty disappointed. What's the point of slowing down time if I'm as slow as everyone else? Maybe scream in slo-mo as I watch that Draugr Deathlord chop my head off instead of being able to zip around to his backside? Bah. Might be useful for archers to set up shots on moving targets, but otherwise...

Isn't it an archery perk? It's designed to help with aiming, not getting celerity.

He's talking about the Dragon shout I believe.

but it doesn't really change the fact your answer is effectively correct... it helps with any sort of reflex intensive action.

It allows you to get around them when you get close and avoid their strikes so you can get more hits in, I just got the last word of mine and it's one of my favorite ones to use. It works very well against those pesky dragon priests.

No no, I'm talking about the dragon shout, not the perk.

You can quickly respond, even if you are slowed down. Say I'm a blood thirsty werewolf, and I am just about to strike you with a power attack. You raise your shield, but the attack still hits you.

BUT THEN, WHEN YOU SLOW TIME...

You see the attack coming in, you bash at the right moment, you are unaffected.

Also, it is beneficial for archery (as you said), quick peeks around corners, and timing.

This. You do move quicker than your enemies. Especially with the second and third word.

Ohhh, is that so? That would make the world of a difference. I figured upgrading it only increased the duration of the slow-down.

I'm pretty sure you can grab arrows out of the air while it's active, I haven't tried it but that's what I've heard.

you dont go as slow as the rest of the world, i used the level 1 shout to get past a 1-hit kill trap that is normaly unavoidable

haha my shield slows time down via perk, but I get the way the shout works, where as the bow perk is for bow and shield for shield the dragon shout is pretty much for any situation, mages can use to slow time to snipe their foe from afar too or set up Runes effectively maybe set the oil puddles aflame at the right moment before enemies who very often for me walk over the flames before they ignite.

A-Yes they can. Or at least one can...If you become a werewolf.

B-He did not even say that a werewolf did shout. He said a werewolf was shouted at.
