Right now, Oblivion GoTY Edition is about 25$ retail where I'm at. Of which, I get irritated when I look over at PC games and find out that Diablo II Battlechest is now 40$ again. -_-

Which is [censored], because there's SSSSOOOOO much more to Oblivion than there is to D2. -_-

Argh.

Pros open world, hours of fun, beautiful scenery compared to the drab wasteland, full of stuff, lots more quests compared to FO, HUGE world.
Plenty to kill, vast modding comunity, abillity to do whatever you want at any point in the game skill wise.

Cons, not many but the quests are pretty much underveloped in a go to, fetch this, kill them way.
With little choice to talk or use diplomacy to resolve anything. that said the tactics and metheods in combat to resolve quests are varied and wide.

One of the game's biggest PROs applies solely to the PC version... a huge variety of player-made mods that go far to correct perceived deficiencies and enhance the game in any number of ways. New locations. More quests. Improved graphics. Companions. You name it, it's been tackled, barring those instances where no one has yet figured out how to work around limitations inherent in the game engine.

Even discounting player-mods, I think the game is quite wonderful and well worth its modest expense. My biggest disappointment is that NPC A.I. is not as advanced as that seen in an early pre-release video.

IMO, some of the side quests were the best ones in the game. Thieves Guild, Dark Brotherhood, and even the Mages Guild quest were really good. The main quest , I felt was a little lacking, as were the amount of overall quests, but there is nothing wrong with the quality of them.

I have been playing Oblivion for about 4 years now and still haven't gotten tired of it. I play on the PC and do have mods installed but a bunch of them are texture replacers.

It's a amazingly great game but I'm not very good at putting this sort of stuff into words so read http://uk.gamespot.com/pc/rpg/theelderscrollsivoblivion/review.html or if you don't feel like reading watch http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-7f3PUhoVLc.

It doesn't work the same way as in FO3. You need to give him zero-weight items of armor. Yes, you can find these in the game. It's the best long-lasting game I've ever played. It has always been in my rotation of games since release.
