This is a thing which have bothered me a lot. How to take them? F12 doesn't work in Skyrim and print screen button takes them grayscaled and twisted with 45°.

If you're using Steam and not running the .exe directly F12 should work, but since it doesn't for you try checking out Steam's settings.

I'm using steam and in it's settings F12 is chosen for screenshots.

Check the Community then Profile page on Steam and double check there's nothing in you're screenshot's folder. (On the right under Actions)

When your out of game, open steam, press the steam tab on top left corner, click settings, go to the in-game tab, and there should be a hotkey for screenshots, set it up if there isn't one.

you can also do this while in-game if you press shift+tab and go to settings...

If you have taken any screenshots they should be listed in the screenshot manager. You can access the screenshot manager by accessing the 'View' drop down list and selecting 'Screenshots'.

If there are none, perhaps you have the steam overlayed disabled while playing the game? If you are in skyrim and you press Shift+Tab the steam overlay should appear.

Have you tried changing the Steam Hotkey to something else like F11?

I use print screen, and they come out fine for me, although in bitmap format.
