Yeah. My dad and older brother are a lot shorter than I am. Guess it was localized and I stumbled across it. :) Then again, my brother always told me they found me on the side of the road in a ditch, so maybe thats it. Older brothers are so nice. ;)

I'm 6' 4"

I've never had the problem of someone taller than me sitting in front of me in the cinema :)

175 centimeters? That's 68.8', which equals (rounded) 5' 9''.

Thanks, i'll just add a vote to the poll then. I've memorized a rule of thumb that a meter is approximately three feet, but it still fairly difficult to convert measurements. Please USA, could you abandon your buddies Myanmar and Liberia and join the rest of the world in using the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_System_of_Units? :)

1.72m, or 5'8 for those who insist on using the illogical imperial system.

Just for a little side question from a worried wood elf, how much more can males grow if they have been 16 years old for about two months?

Males have been known to keep on growing until they are 20, while females usually stop growing around their 18th birthday.

Im 5'8 in the morning and 5'7 in the evening.

The thing is, Im on the border between the two, and it's a scientific fact that people lose two centimeters of height during the day due to constant gravity pressure. Either that, or I slouch 2 centimeters every time my height is being checked. :P

Anyway, I'd say Im fairly average height, although I would've liked to have been a bit taller. Maybe an inch or so. Im 17 so I might be able to finally reach the permanent 5'8 mark by 18..

5'10" (5'9" when slouching). That's 177.8 cm for the rest of the world

The problem is not standard or metric, the problem is no standard. Government and military is generally metric along with some industry commerce. Yet much of the commerce is in standard.

I'm about 5' 7" to 5' 8" depending on things, but the last time I checked I was like 5' 8" and like 1/4 or something along those lines. Would be nice to be a bit taller up to the 6' mark, but sadly that just wasn't going to happen. Problem is alot of the people I went to school with were way taller than me and as an advlt I feel short compared to others out there. However I guess 5' 8" to 5' 10" is considered the norm out there.
