How do Tamrielic countries relate to our own?

How do you think the cultures of Nirn match up to earth?

I feel that:
Elsweyr-India
Cyrodil- Rome
Skyrim- Eastern Europe
Black Marsh- This one is hard. The landscape I feel could be closely related to South America, but too little is known of their culture.
Hammerfell- Africa.
Morrowind- Morrowind.
Valenwood- Pre-Colonial America. I've actually been getting into the Bosmer a bit over the past few days, and this is the closest I can mark them.
Summerset Isles- I can't really really say for the land, though people remind of Germans. Haughty, proud, and they even have Nazis.

It's not that easy. They're all either miss-mash of cultures, or unique.

Elsweyr- India and East Africa/Rift Valley

Cyrodill- Southern Europe, Black Forest (It was never a jungle, just lots of trees... geography doesnt allow for a jungle)

Skyrim- Scandinavia, Siberia

BlackMarsh-SouthEast Asian Jungles, Amazonia

Hammerfell-Northern+Southern Africa (Tunisia, Angola), Middle East (Turkey, Iran)

Morrowind- Weird East asia and Mongolia

Valenwood- Central Africa, India Jungles, Tropical Mexico

Summerset Isles- Thailand, Greece, (natural) California

High Rock- Balkans

I can go into what some geograhical regions would look like as well (ie mtns, forests, regions)

I love this kind of topic.

My thoughts:

Skyrim: somewhere near Siberia or Mongolia, probably Tuva
Morrowind: also Tuva
Black Marsh: Tuva
Cyrodiil: Manchester
Elsweyr: I'm thinking Tuva
High Rock: Tuva
Hammerfell: Patagonia
Summerset Isles: Tuva
Orsinium: Paris (in the 18th Century)
Hahd: Nahd

Skyrim is as Nordic as it can be. So Northern Europe. Shor = Wotan/Odin
Cyrodil - it's a cross between medieval England, Roman Empire and Holy Roman Empire.
Hammerfell - more like medieval Arabic countries. Close to the Ottoman empire.
Morrowind - I would say medieval Shogunate of Japan.
Valenwood - Celts and Picts
Black Marsh - Mesoamerican cultures
High Rock - medieval France
Orsinum - Mongols and Huns
Summerset Isles - Ming and Tang China
Elsweyr - Romani, Balkan and Punjabi Indian
