Just wait till you get to level 15 THEN the bots start to cause trouble...They get harder as you rank up(or so I heard) so stop being impatent.

I'm 24. I love FPS's. They take up a huge chunk of my gaming time, and i'm pretty good with them (played basically every major fps in the past 15 years). But i have been trying for HOURS to pass the second bloody level of Sec with no luck, because my allies are [censored]. Every time, i get to escorting the case (with about 7-8 minutes left) and my allies just go try to capture the bases etc, rather than escorting me..... or if there are any with me they just don't kill anything / get instantly headshotted. I've done this so many times it's ridiculous. I've even been about 2 metres from the drop point before, but just get swamped by the enemy AI, while i had a single ally with me.

I REALLY want to like this game. In fact i was having a whole heap of fun with it up until that level (finished resistance + challenges all on hard). I don't mind something being a bit tougher. But this isn't because i'm [censored] at FPS's, this is due to [censored] programming. I understand the whole "don't want bots to steal the show", that's fine - but at least let them bloody help and actually kill something occasionally. No, i don't want to drop the difficulty - a) i want the achievement, B) i like a challenge, c) i want the dev's to fix the broken AI. And what's worse is the fact that there are problems with co-op so i can't even get my brother in to help me.

I'm actually just going to forget this game until a patch is released, i'm so sick of wasting my time trying to finish that level.

**EDIT** - on a side note i think i just went to level 14-15 or something, so i have been playing it a bit.

Hell yeah, on challenges and campaign the enemy bots get it done. The problem I'm having is because the bots on my team hold back and let me try to do it on my own. They aren't with me at all. I wouldn't program them to complete all the objectives, if they just followed me and treated me like a team leader that would be fine. But I'm gettin merc'd solo by the enemy bots. I just need some back up and these guys are hangin out down the hall to the right next to the men's room.

Yo,i agree with you 100% on this.I feel the enemy bots put in alot of work in this game,but my team bots are no match for them.Some of the objectives are hard to complete without proper back up from my team bots.I feel the medic bots are the only ones who hold it down and the rest of my team are bumbs.

another solution (might have been a glitch ...maybe not.) is to just create a level 1 character and do the challenges you are having problems with. they are 100 times easier apparently and the unlocks carry over to all characters. (like i said. Might have been a glitch but i can confirm this for 2 gamertags and 1 steam ID.

Well, i'm possibly getting the game tomorrow, but I have noticed that (from a let's play) the AI don't work well. It seems to them, it's all about the frontline combat and not the objective; it reminds me of some people I played the Dead Space 2 Multiplayer trial with: They only killed, they didn't give a crap about the objective! They need to be more team-based, and work together to complete the mission, not run into combat. Leave that for the Heavies.

i really couldnt tell any difference playing on easy and hard... this saddens me.

I can tell a very distinct difference.

The game gets easier on Hard.

And the enemy AI is more likely to finish you off. On Normal or Easy I'd be left waiting for resurrection with someone standing on my head, on Hard, they gun you down almost every time.

But mostly Hard just decreases the gap between friendly bot intelligence and enemies - your teammates are actually occasionally helpful, instead of just meatshields who are never where they're needed.

The only real difference that i have noticed is that friendly bots are slightly more prone to do objectives if they are nearby. But this is balanced by the other thing i have noticed : both teams now tend to huddle together in giant groups.

The enemy team now sits together in a giant group in front of the objective now. Managed to hit 6 with a Molotov just now. Friendly bots do something similar, sticking together in a group (yay), but only moving forward if there are no enemies around (boo).

So the matches now, for me at least, consist of me trying to nade and then kill an entire team so that my team will move forward for an easy win.

Intelligence and skill both match the chosen difficulty. People apparently want them inverted relatively.

On easy, the bots can't hit you very well, but all bots being stupider means your teammates as well.

With inverse relativity you have...

the current tradeoff is better team support or lower enemy shooting skill.
The inverse relativity tradeoff is teamwork-focused games vs shooting-focused games.

Honestly, they should just make hard-level intelligence on all difficulties if people think theyr'e so stupid. That way, difficulty only changes their shooting skill. A kind of shallowing of difficulty adjustment but you won't have stupid bots.

Ok...My issues with this Game (I love it by the way...GOOD JOB ON BETHSEDA bringing the HEAT on this! Team Fortress Meets Fallout Meets Battle Field!)

Challenges like Escort, Tower Defense, Be More Objective etc...
1.) AI On MY team = Non-Existant/not sure why they are there. Needs a Buff. All Companions svck. The AI on the Opposing Team = Phenomanol. My side = Still standing around Spawn area doing nothing or not coming with me when they need to secure an "Area". They don't even pull the "Lets be bullet sponge for the guy to get the objective done with!" They just...chill in the back with their rifles out.
2.) My Turrets AI = Poor. I literally stood and watched/baby sat my turret and it would NOT fire on the guys coming up the stairs. I had it positioned STRAIGHT at looking at the top of the stairs, at an angle they could not shoot it, unless they came up the stairs or hit it from a diagnal angle (which they couldn't)...And it literally stared at the Sniper LOOKING at it from 6 feet away. <--this happens way too many times for me to enjoy even bothering being an Engi.
3.) Engineer's Repairing Ability = Needs to be able to repair before it is damaged. Stupid how I have to wait for my turret to be broken and one grenade away from being blown up instantly to repair it.

I'm great at the game. I'm level 14, Rank 3. I'm pretty much full up on Engineer Abilities except Gatling Turret type abilities (Not that high yet). I have a good amount of Universal ones that help me be stronger. I play as a Heavy Body Type. I use mostly Rifles that have stead aim so I get Head Shots (but haven't really...seen any difference...I even used the Sniper Rifles and still no "Head SHOT" type ordeals came of it/one hit knock downs).

But man...The computer is really kicking my ass because of lack of AI Team mates...It's a TEAM based Objective...why am I the only one near the Objective?

TL:DR COMING UP! BELOW! Turn your head keep going if you don't want to read...

Scenario:
Be More Objective Star 2. FIRST OBJECTIVE, AS A SOLDIER PLACE BOMB ON WALL, GUARD IT FROM ENGINEERS.

Fail of AI 1:
Run out, hit the door, Turn the corner slightly and toss grenade at Team coming from their spawn.
Notice Radar, all my team mates are BAck at Spawn sitting behind boxes doing nothing, Opposiing team is HEADING STRAIGHT FOR THE DOOR TO MAKE SURE NO BOMB GETS PLACED ON IT.
Try it another way:
Fail of AI 2:
Run out, INSTEAD of going to the door and peering around the corner, Run to inbetween spots and sort of..."Flank" The opposing team as they are looking across the way to our spawn spot...Well...It would be great if my team mates woudl RUN UP WITH ME AND DO SOMETHING LIKE I DONT KNOW, GAIN THEIR ATTENTION? Nope..I take out the entire computer's team...I start using the bomb on the door (Be More Objective, Computer Allies Will not complete objectives FOR YOU), and...the opposing Computer has already spawned (4-5 vs 1 lol) and are already shooting grenades, throwing molotavs (Spell check on that) and knocking me down/keeping me from putting bomb up...Computer AI? Shooting at the walls because they know the enemy team is hiding behind it...

Fail of AI 3:
Combination of smart ways of 1 and 2 to try and contain the computer players BY...MY...SELF Because I need to finish each objective solo now because of above idiot AI: Run objective door instead of at it, Grenade/knock down EACH of them, HIt the Medic First, Kill them all slowly, Hit the Bomb: Good. Now the Team Computer AI is standing still...at the spawn door behind boxes aiming at computer opponents: YAY! Now, be an Engineer, Go upstairs, Repair something: AWESOME! Get upstairs After dying 4-5 times because AI isn't working as a Team, but Opponents are. Get upstairs...solo, They destroy me quick because I can't change body type and RUN from their grenade launching heavy guy, I get pushed off the stairs, to the bottom floor of a THIRD Floor Stair Well and get picked off by the awesome aiming skills of opposiing AI's Computers lol. I finally get upstairs, Kill some people, PUT up a Turret looking over their only way up...Turret doesn't fight but one guy...gets damaged by 2 grenades which means it's not even looking at them/down...I'm still picking the damn repair lock/holding X (With Engi abilities btw to gain these quicker LOL) I get grenaded...knocked down...Start over...FINALLY get to a point where the Team AI has all died at the same time, so they come out together and keep the opponent AI busy (LIKE THEY SHOULD BE) down stairs...I complete the Engi Objective: YAY! Only...2 minutes of time left...to become an operative and hack the ordeal that...is open to the Spawn areas of the Opponent AI...My team dies quick, isn't doing [censored]...I can't even get to the Command post with out being knocked down 2-3 times to change to an operative...

This happens each time I run this Challenge. There is no way around it. I'm sure you all have it/got it done, but how can I when this is the Exact thing that happens? What else can I do? Am I supposed to wait for the Team AI to do something? They never DO!

I can't set up a Turret to watch the door so I can place a bomb as a Soldier. Upstairs I'm open for grenade tosses/thrown off, Turret dies before it can kill anyone of any size, No Ammo Buffs from Soldier so If I wanted to FIGHT my way to the engi objective, I'd run out of bullets to fast due to the Quickness of Opposing AI. No Medic Abilities on either Class because my Team AI svcks. My Turret sometimes doesn't even fire on the guy looking at me because it's turning too slowly/doesn't respond to [censored]. I have to be a Heavy so I can take more hits/even be able to take the grenade throwing of the Enemy.

I can finally get to the operative spot...ONCE I even got to turn into the Operative...and then I get slaughtered..because of: No Operative Abilities, I'm mostly Medic/Engi build, I have Hack Turret for Operative though! I can't "Dress up" as the enemy because they all die so close to spawn, by the time my Operative is done with holding X, they stun me with shotguns/grenades etc. No Buffs from AI Team Mates because they...aren't even playing...Opposing Team Mates are spot on how they need to act: I'm not complaining about them! and they are the ones kicking my ass like a Clan Match full of people who communicate! lol

I have played with the patched version. The AI are much better now for the steam version vs the xbox version (the two i can test on)

And the level 2 challenges are no longer near impossible past level 15 if you didn't do them (for some reason lol)

The AI on here is just flat out garbage... That should have been a pole option. Boosting them won't do a damn thing if they can't complete "Main" objectives in the first place... :flame:

The enemy AI is WAYYYY stronger than my allies....
It doesn't make sense for them to back off once you get closer to an objective... that is where you need them most, to defend your back... but no, they run away and let the enemy kill you.
