How is the melee in the final release build?

I remember one of the Crytek mods saying they were thinking of toning it down in the final release to 2 hits max, even with armour on, and wanted to know if that made it in.

Now, I have to say I think the three hit on armour was the best version. I'm almost exclusively a melee player, so there's no bias here, but it was a little too easy before. Not as silly as the 1 hit to everyone mode in the first demo, but a nice balance. Before, there always seemed like 2 melee players per team, then it went to practically zero.

If they have reduced it again, hey, it makes my life easier, but as I was already getting around 20 kills a game just with fists anyway, I really don't think it needs toning down, and I kind of liked being one of the only players still doing it.

it was around 3 hits in the demo

the single player has a diffrent melee you can hold down for a "power melee" which is a one hit but that isnt presnt in the multiplayer.

I think it is, but only if you're a sneeky b*stard. Come at them cloked from behind and hold the button. Is that the thing you mean from single player? Deffinatly worked in the PC multiplayer demo.

yeah the takedown kills work but i think the op is refering to the power melee which is sopose to be like a str mode melee attack that works anytime. its in the single player but not in the pc multi demo.

No that's not what I mean, i'm talking standard hits in multi.

Demo 1 was 1 hit, 2 on armour. Demo 2 was 1 hit on stealth, 2 on normal, 3 on armour.

In a topic on melee, a cry-mod mentioned they were considering 2 hits as standard for the release build, and I was asking if that is the case, as I personally think Demo 2's was the best balance.
