So how's the multiplayer so far???

Post » Sat Aug 01, 2009 6:32 pm

The main reason I want to buy Crysis 2 is the multiplayer and I want to know if it's worth $60.

Im having a blast with it. Been a long time since I have enjoyed an online shooter so much. A lot of customizing with guns, beautifully done maps. I would have to say some of the best maps I've played on in a long time. Now it does have its problems. Like LAG for one thing. But the game just came out and im sure they will fix it.

the campaign in itself is worth the money, i beat it on normal and it took me 6hr and 17mins.Great story line and the levels are spectacular. Multiplayer is good but as with all new games theres gonna be bugs. It is laggy which is the main prob especially if ur a sniper like me. My main concern is that EA, the maker of the game has a bad reputation of make-and-forget, but hopefully they wont do that on C2

I just played it this morning and I was having a blast! Of course I'm quite new so I didn't fair so well except for one match where I came out on top. But it's awesome!

So do you think EA will take our money and run as they usually do? I will pick this game up but it pisses me off that EA do these things, OR is Crytek going to run the show?

Its Ok , I mean I really like it but some things are really changed from the demo, and I don't understand why, The Demo was more balenced.

The main problem is finding a match with a decent connection.

Since there is NO servvers, the game uses Peer To Peer , and a 360 console hosts.

Currently its hard to find a good match,,, Its not that there is a lot of VISUAL lag (people skittering around)
Its just really bad Ping ! (Ping is the distince between you and the host and how long it takes your information to reach the Hosting 360)

The Ping is Constintly changing and it appears that the Game changes Host EVERY MATCH..

So you may play 10 matches and finally get a Green bar connection and then in the exact same room on the next match,,, the game will pick a different host and you have 1 red bar.

Hopefully they will fix this by creating a way to set your match making by region or something like that.

I'm playing matches with hosts from every where but the US east coast , which is where Im located.

I really like the gameplay though, I just hope they can fix the connection issues so I can find a decent quality match.

Best of luck in your desicion .

I wasn't all that excited about the retail release from the gameplay in the demo, but let me tell you that i am absolutely loving the retail version. I wanted to find another game to play when Halo Reach got me frustrated, but this just might pull me away from Reach all together. I played for hours and played very well. We lost a few games, but it never become frustrated, never threw or smacked my controller. It was just fun. COD was fun for the first few hours as well, but quickly got boring. These maps and gameplay are so intricate that it really has a grasp on me.

Anyways Good game so far. I like it. I bought it mostly for MP, it's a lot of fun!

Game is a disgustingly good splash of Halo, Call of Duty, and for some reason I feel like there's a little Gears of War somewhere. It seems so evenly balanced that no one player could have a better chance than another. Also I like the fact that it chooses your kill streaks.

Anyways Good game so far. I like it. I bought it mostly for MP, it's a lot of fun!

When everyone in the room as red bars and yellow bars while only 1 person has Full green bars,, its a give away who the host is. and it changes the host every match. The host always has Full green bars and he usally is in first place.

I have been asking people in every match I have played where they are located. Thats how I know the match making system is putting me in matches with people from all over the place.

I have even had it put me in a few matches with overseas players, and a couple of times they were hosting , so instead of the match making finding me a quality match its just putting me wherever..

I hope that answers your question..

Hate to say it but so far, the only people I connect to that hosts are cheaters using the good ole halo cheating act. Let someone unload a whole clip into you, then unplug your connection for a second or two come up behind that person and kill them although the cheater should have died.

Of course the people cheating are mostly the peer hosts and their buddys connected.

It makes multiplayer in this game not fun at all. One second your shooting someone literally thinking your about to get that kill, the host unplugs the connection, 5 more players get in the same area and the cheaters waist everyone and get all the kills.

Also no way I know of yet, to put them on a block or ignore mode so you do not have to play the same idiots over and over again.

I really hate how console gaming you can get away with this slow connection / disconnection crap while playing a game and it does not ban you or kick you or anything in most games on the xbox 360. On a pc you try that crap you get kicked out and or banned from the server.

I did enjoy the demo playing online with team instant action, it felt more smooth and less lag playing through there which might of been on a server rather than peer to peer. So I am sticking to single player for now until they fix this multiplayer stuff which gets old quickly...

I definitely think you are overreacting here a little bit. The ole Halo cheating trick.....come on dude...

It is so funny how people are so quick to jump and make the most outlandish excuses.....plain and simple, the game released with issues and hopefully they fix them....if they don't trade in the game and boycott EA Games.....

But don't be that annoying kid that cries cheater when you are experiencing issues in the game.
