How this wokrs, again?

Post » Mon Oct 29, 2012 12:11 pm

Hi. I stumbled on a question yesterday. And I can't find an answer to it. The question is: If the Sun is a hole to Aetherius, and masser and secunda are the moons - the body of Lorkhan. And Nirn is a Spherical object hanging in Oblivion with no orbit, so there is no actuall sun rising and dawning. So how the hell the day/night cycle works here ? Seriously I can't find anything.

Pretty sure Nirn itself spins, but I can't be arsed to load up my copy of Oblivion to check out the Dwemer Orrery and make sure.

I thought the Nirn being in oblivion thing was Camoran's b.s. Or do you mean something else?

edit: Err, wait.. Oblivion isn't space itself, is it?

Kind of.

What are planets?

The planets are the gods and the planes of the gods, which is the same thing. That they appear as spherical heavenly bodies is a visual phenomena caused by mortal mental stress. Since each plane(t) is an infinite mass of infinite size, as yet surrounded by the Void of Oblivion, the mortal eye registers them as bubbles within a space. Planets are magical and impossible. The eight planets correspond to the Eight Divines. They are all present on the Dwarven Orrery, along with the mortal planet, Nirn.

OK, thanks.

I guess Camoran is partly right, but seems to assume the gods are trying to dupe mortals somehow. It's as if he bundles the entire "solar system" as a plane of Oblivion. But this is all beside the point. Apologies.

It's half optical illusions, half truth and half the human (or elven) brain finding a way to stare into the face of Cthulu and somehow not go crazy town banana pants from it.

Why wouldn't Nirn spin? I think that's clearly the case.
