How to treat Lycanthropy ?

Post » Tue Mar 19, 2013 2:50 pm

Hello Everybody !

When you transform into a Were-Creature , basically all of your inventory is thrown away.
How do you deal with it ?

( For example , after I transform back , I come to the place of my transformation in order to "take back my stuff" , not that I played with a Were-Creature lately.. )

I'm not sure what you mean, you don't lose anything from your inventory.

So you are making a suggestion, rather than a statement?

Ugh.
No , I know that the inventory stays.
I'm talking here from a Role-Playing perspective.

So, you want the game to take all your gear, and put it in a chest somewhere that you have to go find after you transform back?

If you mean from an Rp stand point all of your equipment gets cast away when you transform, ie your armor drops off of you in place as you change. Then yes I would return to the same place that I transformed, but I don't take the Rping that far. I simply open my inventory and re-equip all my gear :D But yes if I took the Rping as far as you I would try to remember where I transformed to get my stuff :tops:

I think he's saying that when he returns to human form, he goes back to the spot where he transformed, rp'ing as though that is where his gear is.

Ahh I see now.
Good question because when you transform you really don't have anyway to carry anything.
Going back to the place of transformation would make sence.

NO !
I'm not talking about mechanics or actual game-play here.
When you transform , all of your items are thrown away right ? ( NOT really , but theoretically ).
So I'm talking about that , how from a Role-Playing perspective you treat the transformation.

You might find that some people would hate this....first time I did the werewolf thing, I spent a fruitless and frustrating half an hour searching around the countryside in-game, and on the internet, only to find that my gear was in my inventory.

I treat my transformation as Deadric magic more then a physical thing. I almost always have Azura's Star by time I become a werewolf so my head cannon is my gear is stored there till I need it. Also works as a reason for having the amount of weapons I might carry.

Its not for everyone I'm sure. It was my way of meeting the game half way for handling the Beast transformation and usage the way I would have designed it. Not that I have much knowledge of game design.

you return only to say.......Awwww man

I like your idea  Only thing that would keep me from trying it is the length of my hunting trips, some times they last for about a month (in game). There's no way I'll be able to remember where I changed after a month, hell I wouldn't remember after a 2 minute run

I think I understand. Maybe.

Just pretend that due to the influence of Hircine the transformation into a werewolf involves, uh, more 'magic' than it being considered just a disease. When you transform, everything on you changes along with you.
