How to troll in Dustman's Cairn

Post » Mon Dec 16, 2013 2:54 pm

Any newbies having trouble with all the draugrs in the last section of Dustman's Cairn?

Just sneak up to their coffins and equip a weapon, preferably one that has long reach such as a greatsword. Perform a power attack on their coffin. Thanks to the wonders of the Creation Engine your weapon should clip right through the coffin striking the poor fool sleeping in it. Rinse and repeat with all the coffins in the area and make sure you don't take the fragment of Wuuthrad yet. To deal with the coffin lying horizontally at the centre of the room just hit it from the side.

Once all of them have having been dealt with, take the fragment and laugh as the coffins break open and the draugrs fall out dead from their coffins.

Someone needs to let me know if this works with other Draugr crypts.

If one has Fire Rune and Runemaster Perk, casting the rune at the base of the coffin works just as well.

EDIT: frost and shock may work as well, but Draur take extra damage from fire, so....

I remember my first time in that room, before I began adding mods that increased difficulty. My character simply equipped a silver sword in each hand. I literally tore through the mob taking little damage at all.

I am on console and cannot do that. But doing it the way you do it takes all the fun out of it. Some consider it there test dungeon. lol

Uh you don't need to be on PC if I'm correct, I was only poking fun at Bethesda when I mentioned Creation Engine.

It's a different story when you are playing on Master or Legendary.

I don't understand. Why up the difficulty so that your character is considerably weaker, then use a game engine bug/exploit to defeat your enemies before they are even activated?

Not only that, they do not even come after you all at once, but only 2 or 3 at a time. The dungeon is fairly easy on adept level 10. It is harder to figure out which plunder to keep and which not to. There is only about 20 duarger in the end of it.

I will continue doing the way I have been doing it

I enjoy fighting them all at once. It's fun. That fool Farkas is always on his knees. Plus, I can level my skills quicker with all the hostile Draugr.
