How to use Roughin' it! portable bedroll kit : Fallout: New Vegas

I am confused, don't know how to use the bedroll.. :S

I am clicking it, getting the message telling me to to close the pip boy. I am pressing TAB or F2 and nothing happens. Am I doing it wrong or it is a bug?

Once that message shows to close the pip boy it should automatically give you the scales for how long you want to sleep after you close the pip boy window.

My biggest problem was finding the bedroll kit. I am playing hardcoe and very hard settings.

I followed the youtube video instructions about checking above the entrance to the hopeville silo entrance but no bedroll
