How is water going to affect gameplay

Post » Wed Dec 02, 2015 4:40 am

Obviously I want water to have a much more significant affect on gameplay than F3 did, but I think it would be cool to allow the use of guns underwater (even though it wouldn't make much sense), missions that make utilize the water in a larger way than previous games, new underwater enemies. I think it's cool that Bethesda is incorporating water in the way they are currently with the game, the Marie Boy/Girl perk, and in the trailer we saw our character riding a boat. It's an intriguing idea to me.

I am loving that they have more water in this game and it appears that you can actually go into it without immediately being sapped of health from radiation poisoning.

I would really like this to go back to Morrowind times where water was another area to be explored with sunken ships and treasure and bosses hidden in underwater caverns and pockets of air.

With a music track titled "The Last Mariner" and an Endurance perk to help you survive in water, I think it's a safe bet there'll be at least some underwater content.

I love watery areas in Fallout games. Gaining access to rivet city & loved trying to find the sunken B29 in New Vegas. Looking very forward to what lurks beneath the water in Fallout 4 :tops:

You ask "how is water going to affect gameplay" chief?! Well let me tell you a little story about. 22 ghouls taking a dip in the glowing sea chief.

You see when its teally hot out and ghouls arent really too welcomed in city let alone using the pool they head to the coast and take a dip without the hatefull eyes of there smooth skin brothers looken at'em.
And so you see chief 22 ghouls go into the water 11 ghouls make it out of the water. If only someone only told them about those sick [censored] bastard scientist playing god again And
deciding it was a good idea to mix deathclaw dna with the dna of a mirelurk king and created a whole new predator for us to fear!
And so chief you ask me how water is going to effect gameplay? Oh chief we dont stand a [censored] chance.

Honestly, I'm annoyed Bethesda hasn't done something with sea monsters and Fallout already. The ocean already has some raw sh...rimp...in it. Now imagine that, but mutated by radiation and FEV.

Yes , I loved the Rebreather mask which you get in Nelis in Fallout New Vegas. It stays in your inventory permanently, and help you swim underwater and explore without worrying about O2 level. Hope there is something like it available in FO4, that would be awesome, love the underwater scenries in fallout universe, plus it is a great way to kill deathclaws with inferior weapons as they hate chasing you into the water ;-)

Yeah I agree with this! The piranhas that were to be found in the waters of Skyrim were just embarrassing to be brutally honest. No sea monsters of any description, a real lack of imagination. :( Lets hope F4 brings some sea life excitement to our screens.

He's on some docks in the combat trailer, but not boats.

As for underwater content, I'm down. Underwater combat, though, nah, which generally precludes filling the water with enemies. As for Morrowind's underwater content, all I can say is "Cliff Racers of the sea", on those gods damned Slaughterfish.

I'm really looking forward to doing some underwater exploration. Here's hoping we'll find some flooded vault or government facility during a sidequest. It's fertile ground, such a great opportunity to introduce new and fresh ideas to the series.
