How well does Brink run on your systems?

Post » Mon May 02, 2011 1:22 am

The title says it all, I'm trying to get a sense of how this game plays and scales on all you lucky US guys systems.

So those of you who are tech savvy enough and can provide the following, I'm sure it'd be nice to see for those who haven't played Brink yet!

FPS - You can do one of those timed 'Benchmarks' that FRAPS has to offer, or just give the average fps you guys seem to be getting.
Game Settings - RES? High/Low/Med AA? AAF? Motion Blur? The more g33ky the better.
PC Hardware - CPU+Clock, GPU, RAM (is Brink a RAM hog?)

Thats about it really, I'd be grateful for a handfull of replies to this, also I'm aware that ATI users are having a harsh time at the moment, give some numbers people :D

Perfectly - No crahses, FPS was great, haven't noticed any bugs yet.
FPS - Wasn't running FRAPS when I was playing, but there was never a moment where I was questioning the FPS
Settings - Everything maxed out / turned on, except for V Sync
Hardware - i7-975 EE @ 3.33GHz // Radeon HD 5850 2gb @ 900 MHz // 9gb RAM

I'm at work atm, that was all from memory. Can provide more info later if needed.

INTEL i7 QuadCore
ATI Radeon 5870
12GB DDR3 ram
WIN 7 64bit
BIGFOOT Killer 2100 NIC

BRINK runz perfect on my PC, smooth, no hitches, no graphic issues what so ever. LOVE the game. It looks and plays great.
Only thing is the co op, i am unable to get 3 computers (3 legal copies) in my house to connect co op. I have opened ports 27015-27016, 8766 but when my kids try to connect to me they put in password, then they try to connect and times out. I need it to be Internet, so my friends can join in too :(

Once the game starts up, it runs perfectly well. Starting up, however... oh boy. I have to click to start Brink, and then basically leave the room for a few minutes. My whole computer freezes and struggles, and then after a couple minutes, Brink is fine like nothing unsettling ever happened

Intel I7 960 Quad Core @ 3.20 GHZ
Nvidia GeForce GTX 480
12,0 GX DDR3 RAM
Win 7 64 bit

Brink runs smoothly, however i'm afraid to play it for an extended period of time because about 30 seconds after i start the game my video card goes berserk and puts all of its fans on overdrive...that worries me, cause i can run Crysis 2 and any other game at 100% video settings without that happening

lmfao, I guess we are lucky ones, I pretty much have the same exactly system except for Windows Vista 64bit
Sound is the same, though it seems that turning off all VOIP options lowers the chances of losing sound.

So far the game runs very well for me. Both cpu and gpu temps remain good in my hot as hell room (fan on gpu only hitting 78% speed with trixx<3).

Intel i5 661 @3.8GHz
Sapphire AMD 6950 flex
gskill 2x4GB DDR3 @1333
Win7 x64

Edit: to Critten- still using CCC 11.2, although it looks like they just came out with an 11.5a hotfix for some graphic issues people were having.

Well, to those that are running right, to fix what isn't broken... lmfao and for ALL ATi users that are running perfectly without any graphical issues. Please post your driver version,, so that I might download them all and hope one will work (for my bud, not my setup which is 2 years old and on the low - med side and running Brink just right, lmfao)

Win7 Ultimate x64
i7 920
5870 w/ 11.5a

Game runs horribly bad. Basically forced to play the game below 30 FPS at 1920x1200 with everything on low or off. In other words, something's [censored] up.

Does not run at all. I've now tested this on three systems, one with min specs and two with substantially better than min specs, and it works on none of them. Immediate crash to desktop from Steam, "brink.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close." I've updated my drivers, but it still just plain doesn't work.

It runs like a Kenyan for me, which is good lol.

Am I the only one running an AMD CPU here -.-
Running the game at max settings on this setup:

CPU :AMD athlon IIx3 2.7GHz unlocked and overclocked to Phenom II x4 @ 3.2GHz
GPU :Nvidia 460 SE
RAM :8Gb G.Skill DDR2
RES :running at 1680x1050.
CASE : NZXT Phantom (black)
I highly recommend the phantom btw. Check it out, she's a sixy one!
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811146068&cm_re=phantom-_-11-146-068-_-Product
Never goes much below 60fps

Lookin forward to checkin out multiplayer once I have a legit copy.

Sinn, seems youre right. I turned off all VOIP options and have been playing multiplayer with no sound loss at all so far.

so basically, Brink is working 100% now. or 99% since voip is turned off.

cheers!
