Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 2:20 pm

Depends on if SD decides to pick up their marketing effort, the only thing I've seen from Brink on TV was watching E3...last year...LAST YEAR!

I say at least 200,000 copies, since it's a new franchise, but I'd bump that to 500,00+ because it's made by SD.

It will probably end up being a 'Sleeper hit' ( an exact number? I dont know) but you never know, because Minecraft became popular by word of mouth alone, and look how many people have bought that game, and its not even out of Beta stage yet!

Well total preorders in america alone exceeds 200,000 and its been awhile since I last checked, and seeing as most people dont preorder its a safe bet Brink will do fairly well for itself :3

I personally believe that Brink will sell very well. Take into account that they may have a ton of pre-orders already, you also have to consider that a very large chunk of ppl will end up buying the game on release day and so on and so forth the only issue I see is them contending with L.A. Noire the following week. But I believe after a few reviews from very sckeptical and bias game magazines the game will prove itself and more sales will come pouring through the door.

Isn't it the 2nd most pre-ordered game right behind Gears 3? It had over 500,000 pre orders already.......

I remember 2 weeks ago when my friend told me about this game. I have never heard of it. Read about it and became excited and interested. Definatly one of most looked forward to games so far. I have it pre-ordered and paid off. I hope it does well so we can get more support and sequel.

The game was one of the top sellers in Steam back when it was available for pre order, August 2010 If I'm not mistaken. I'm sure it will do rather well.

After about a month i think that word of mouth will get around that it is the best FPS released so far this year, and i see no reason why it can't become as loved and competitive as TF2.

As its been said, it will be a "Sleeper" hit. The community will grow as people begin to hear of there friends brag about it. Til then, it's fine where it is now.

I should go ahead and clarify that the 200,000 is just on the consoles so there will be more players from the PC community as well.

Right, decided to do a little ditty with some numbers :3

Homefront had 80,000 (360) preorders at its height, on a whole homefront got average reviews from critics. Homefront was still able to sell over a million copies within six weeks and this is still only 360 sells.

Now Brink has 160,000 (360  ) preorders and is expected to get fairly high reviews... :shifty:

This all bares well for Brink, although some considerations are to be taken in, for one Homefront did have a MASSIVE advertising campaign, and unlike Brink it didnt break the standard shooter layout (no mingleplayer, no teamwork, nothing especially innovative)

But still.. the stats are very promising :3

200,000 copies is on American Xboxs ALONE. So there will be a lot more than just 200,000.

This. In total, I expect to see on average about...

6 - 800,000 copies.

You really can't beat that, thats great. Brink might sell so well it aint even funny.

This. Minecraft is techincally not even released, and it's recently gotten two million purchases. The entire time, it's spread only by word of mouth, and word of text.

BRINK will do very well, Methinks. Maybe not enough to topple the amount of sales Portal 2 has, but enough to stabilize itself as a new franchise.

It has been creeping back into the top sellers lately too. I assume that the amount bought has been increasing the closer the release date is. Top sellers on Steam is a good start for advertising, I know I usually look there to see if there are any interesting games. Although it hasn't really hit full momentum yet, and I'm not sure if it ever will. I know me and a group of friends are buying it to play together though. I consider a game at "full momentum" when people start buying a game because all their friends are playing it.

The Gamestop in my area are advertising it everywhere in the store.
I think this game will sell very well.

Despite the lack of a massive advertising campaign, this game should sell EXTREMELY well, after people start talking about it (I am one of those people, and I imagine quite a few people on this site are as excited as I am.) and all the people sick of bland shooters flock to it.

I would guess from pre-orders alone that there will be an abundance of brink players at release.

Considering its featured on Gamestop.com and Amazon.com, plus every other bus I've seen here in New York City had a Brink advertisemant on it, I'd say pretty well.
