How will Daedra be introduced?

Post » Fri Nov 13, 2009 3:38 pm

Now that the Oblivion gates are not the main focus on the game how do you think the Daedra will be introduced this time around in Skyrim? The Morrowind way or some other source? Your thoughts on this.

By me going back to Oblivion and kill all of them........ so they will not be introduced because they will all die before I see them will an arrow to the face to each of them. All of them will just say "I think I heard Something".

I'm not even sure we'll find Daedra in Skyrim, although you watch somebody will come by, see my post and say "Silly Terror yes Daedra are in Skyrim here's a screen shot of a Daedroth ripping a Villagers head off".

I'm certain there will be Daedra in Skyrim. They're far too big a part of the world to leave out, and there's no reason for them to be absent.

I hope they are though because to me they are essential to TES. I didn't play anything before Morrowind but I am accustomed to seeing them in the game. Usually not in a friendly way though..

Edit: @Todd, I haven't played the game in a long time but there were shrines in Morrowind where idiots would come and summon them and worship them. You could walk into a shrine, kill a bunch of people there and if you take the sacrifices placed before the shrine a pissed off daedra would pop through and smack away at your backside.

And there's Conjuration.

I'd like them to be rare. Maybe a few Dremora, among the major cities.

If anything, we should still be able to summon them with spells. But Im sure there will be shrines giving us quests.

EDIT: Ninja'd lol

typically they are brought in to the normal world by conjoring deadric worshipers, usually at shrines like in MW. in OB there were rumors of deadra worship on the rise in the altmer isles (sorry I forget for the moment what it was called) but no mention of it in skyrim. my thoughts are that there will be humaniod enemy types that are like necromancers in OB but deadric worshipers who summon deadra, or maybe the mythic dawn is still around but fractured and without any leader ship.

Servants of powerful mages, and infesting the odd Daedric shrine.

I wouldn't mind a brief foray into the occasional Daedric realm through a DLC or Daedric shrine quest (or via a magical amulet ala Fyr's Daedric Sanctuary Amulet), but for the most part I'd like them to be a minor part of the game again.

With the exception of Hermaeus Mora, who should remain a major part of Nordic mythology. I'm still hoping for his shrine to be non-Euclidean and underwater just like any good cosmic horror should be!

No pics, though they were confirmed in the last interview we've seen from Todd Howard. (The one from the german site)

i liked it in oblivion the way you were to go to a shrine and there was a couple of people. what i would like to be added is a building near the statue and inside it there should be a library and a couple of other stuff linked to that daedra god be it a monster a champion or animals.

Didn't one of the recent interviews confirm that some, though not all, of the Daedra Princes will make an appearance?
edit: ninja'd.

Yeah that's right he did say something like that. Although I expect a much lower number then they were in Oblivion.

I for one think that one of the reasons Morrowind was so successful was because the world was very Alien. Shivering Isles to me was neat. I want some alien world to visit. I know Skyrim itself is "Nothing like the Telvani" according to Todd Howard so we have been told to not expect that alien look (which we already knew). I just hope that DLC will provide a nice daedric adventure.. just sayin

Yeah but how do you think they will be introduced? Looking for your hypothesis. Also, Aedra? I suppose I will have to wiki Aedra.

Summons will almost certainly be part of it. I could see a few shrines scattered about, near the borders of Morrowind, perhaps.

There may be a bunch of shrines around. The princes will undoubtedly get you to perform missions for them again, as Todd said those were among their favourite quests. I wonder if any will be in daedra realms though. I'd like to see some of the other realms, like cold harbour.

And thanks Atomicandy, mentioning pizzas. Now I'm hungry...

They could always take a page from Daggerfall's book and have the Daedric Princes summonable at guilds/witch covens. Please don't bring back specific summoning dates tho.

The Daedra are Immortal. Ergo, you will not be killing any of them, because you cannot kill them. You may break their bodies for a time and banish them to the Waters of Oblivion. . . but they will return.. . and they shall mark your name and face! :obliviongate:
