The Crysis 2 graphics may have some cool special effects, but it does not excel in terms of photorealism and level of detail like Crysis did. Personally, the graphics in Crysis 2 looks more like a fancy version of MW2 graphics, which still is not too bad but definitely not top of the line.
How will DX11 change Crysis 2? I've noticed that DX11 adds tessellation and more realistic water effects, but overall I really don't see any other noticable differences nor improvements in our everyday games like Bad Company 2 and F1 2010 as well as Dirt 2. So how will DX11 affect Crysis 2? I am also aware that DX11 usually has lower performance compared to DX9, so the trade off we're facing is more quality and less FPS, but is the performance drop really worth the extra quality? I have never seen a real screenshot of Crysis 2 in DX11, that is why I cannot determine whether it is a good trade-off to go DX11.
DX11 affects various games differently, if any of you have comparisons to show me, please do not give me the obvious comparisons from other games or benchmarks that I most likely have already seen. What I, and I'm sure many other people on the forums as well, would like to see is an actual comparison of Crysis 2 in DX9 vs Crysis 2 in DX11, along with FPS benchmarks. If Crytek finally releases a DX11 patch that doesn't improve the game at all, it isn't going to do much good is it?
