How will Fallout Starts ?

any location is fine to me if they can recreate the apocalyptic scenery there was in the first fallout.

Remember the background story of Fallout ! now, How would you see the 'first few steps' of Fallout?

Here is my version:
1) creation of character
2) Start in a Vault ( probably a few starting points located over the map to spread the gamers IF too much lag when too many people located at the same place )
3) While in the Vault, selection of your class/skills etc etc, probably mixed with small easy missions to learn how to interact with the UI
4) Story line will advise us somehow that 'something' going on out of the Vault and that we should investigate.
5) Discovering of the surroundings

Now i do wonder if people will be able to create their own 'gang' with the possibility to literary own a town bringing business to it and so on. A MMO is also about business, crafting skills... don t you think ?

Maybe different starting situations. Perhaps not everyone is from a vault. Such as if ghouls are playable, they would be unlikely to start in a vault.

We can have people born into factions outside of vaults such as NCR or tribals.

i hope for several starting locations, some more safe than others. Vault/city, town and outpost. Let there be advantages and disadvantages in choosing one starting location over the other.
but main point, the playing population gets spread out more from get go.

Ghouls perhaps could start from having a bomb dropped near them similar to whatsherface from fallout 3? Image

I am guessing their will be at first a number of different starting "areas" each place will give passive bounces.
Human
Vault kid;- start in a vault, your tutorial into the game will be you growing up.

The waste lander :-your village is attacked by raiders, your tutorial into the game will be a few short quests around your town, to get you used to the basic ideas.

merchant:- You are ever a guard or a trader and your convoy is attacked.

City folk:- you grow up in a city, even though you live in the wastes you are not as hard to it as other people, starting quests will involve some sort of gang and the guards.

Brother / sister of steel:- you are born into the local brother hood chapter.

Ghouls / mutants
Long time Ghoul:- your starting quests will be just after the bombs drop, and the story line of your slow painful transformation into being a ghoul.

Fresh meat:- while out in the waste land you come across a abandoned facility you slip falling into a room with glowing barrels , even though you escape , you are never the same.

Masters best:- you are a mutant from the masters army, ever since it broke up you have been looking to serve some one else, like all good soldiers do.

i believe there will be different factions already implemented in the game, that gamers will join.


It s a simple way to do it. I would have rather have real gangs of gamers setting up their own factions, with the options to 'buy' small part of certain cities located over the world allowing the new gamers to join those factions.
